An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2313
The spear glowed with a bright silver light and gave off a chilling cold. The air twisted around it, making a loud, piercing noise.
Azalea didn’t want to face it directly. She quickly backed away, forming complex signs with her hands while quietly saying an incantation. She pointed at Veronica, who was chasing after her.
Suddenly, the ground in the battle ring burst open with thick black vines that seemed to move on their own. They shot up quickly and wrapped around Veronica’s feet, climbing up her legs and hips in an instant. In moments, she was completely trapped.
“Huh?” Veronica frowned in confusion.
Just as she was about to raise her spear to fight back, two thicker vines shot up from the ground and grabbed her arms, pulling them apart with force. In seconds, the black vines had her tied up tightly like a prisoner.
What worried her most was the strength of these vines. They felt unbreakable, and despite her struggles, she couldn’t free herself.
“What kind of magic is this? It’s so wicked!” she exclaimed.
“This is bad. Veronica is in trouble!” someone shouted.
“This is unfair! She ambushed her!” another voice cried out.
The Celestial Alliance disciples felt anxious watching Veronica trapped by the vines. They never expected Azalea to use such a strange and powerful technique.
“Now!” Azalea shouted, seizing her chance. She made another set of hand signs and pointed at the helpless Veronica.
With a loud roar, a blazing flame erupted, quickly transforming into a fierce tiger. The tiger roared silently and charged at Veronica, its body surrounded by flames.
“This is terrible!” the disciples of the Celestial Alliance gasped, some standing up in shock. But they could only watch helplessly as the fiery beast approached.
engulfed by a bright golden shield that appeared out of nowhere.
“What just happened?” gasped one of the Celestial Alliance disciples.
The crowd watched in disbelief as the golden shield shimmered, protecting Azalea from Veronica’s powerful attack.
“Looks like someone’s got her back,” Fenley observed, his eyes still focused on the match.
Veronica, undeterred by the shield, quickly repositioned herself, ready to strike again. Her spear glinted in the light as she moved with grace and precision.
Azalea took a deep breath, her heart racing. She couldn’t let Veronica overwhelm her. Summoning her strength, she prepared for the next move.
“Come on, Azalea! You can do this!” one of her friends shouted from the sidelines.
With renewed determination, Azalea lowered her stance, ready to counter Veronica’s next attack. The tension in the air was thick as both fighters locked eyes, each one waiting for the other to make a move.
Suddenly, the arena erupted with energy as the two warriors charged at each other. The clash of their powers sent shockwaves through the crowd, and everyone held their breath, eager to see who would prevail in this fierce battle.
Azalea was suddenly pushed back by an unseen force. The impact made her stumble, leaving her arm feeling numb.
“Hmm?” Veronica noticed something unusual. A small Astral bell was floating right in front of Azalea’s chest.
The bell was about the size of an egg, covered in intricate engravings. It glowed with a golden light, making it clear that this was no ordinary object.
“An Elysian amulet?” Veronica frowned, her mood darkening.
The Elysian amulet was a rare piece of protective gear, much better than any golden silk armor. It had a special enchantment that would automatically create a protective shield when its wearer was in danger, without needing any activation.
Such a valuable artifact was extremely rare and worth a fortune. Even Veronica didn’t have one.
She was shocked that someone as young as Azalea owned such a treasure. Had the Mystic Arts Order’s students really become that wealthy?
“That was a close call. I almost got hit,” Azalea said as she patted her chest to calm down.
She had underestimated Veronica, thinking she could handle things with just a few spells. Azalea hadn’t expected Veronica to break through her defenses and launch a strong counterattack.
She might have been badly hurt if Abigail hadn’t given her the Elysian Amulet.
This amulet didn’t belong to the Mystic Arts Order; it was a prize Abigail had won from a recent betting game she organized.
Azalea couldn’t help but admire Abigail’s sharp judgment.
