An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2314
In the stands, a man clenched his fists in frustration as he watched Azalea use the Elysian amulet. It had once been his prized possession, but he had lost it in a bet, and the loss hurt deeply. He felt that his fate as a gambler was well-deserved.
“Madam Penelope, your guild has quite the resources. Even one of your students gets to use an Elysian amulet. That’s impressive,” Alloy said, his tone hinting at curiosity.
Penelope replied coolly, “When it comes to wealth and influence, the Celestial Alliance is at the top. We only have a small bit of heritage.”
“You’re being too modest,” he said with a knowing smile. “If this young student has earned your favor, she must be something special. I can’t wait to see how she does.”
“Your students are strong, too,” she said, offering a slight smile.
Cyrus watched their insincere exchange with a sneer. There was no room for all this pretense in the battle ring; he just wanted them to get on with the fight.
“I didn’t expect you to have an Elysian amulet,” Veronica said, her expression grim and her tone harsh. “But even with that, you won’t win against me. You’ll still lose.”
Veronica knew that Elysian Amulets could only be used a limited number of times. Once the energy inside was gone, the amulet would be useless. She just needed to attack harder to drain its power. It would take some effort, but she believed she could do it.
“Ha! You think you can defeat me? Let’s see if you’re up to the challenge,” Azalea replied with a faint smile, her long whip moving like a snake.
Having learned from her earlier mistake when Veronica caught her off guard, Azalea was determined not to let that happen again. She focused and prepared for the fight.
“Watch this!” she exclaimed as Veronica charged forward without hesitation.
Her spear sparkled coldly as she lunged at Azalea with determination.
The thrust was straightforward but quick and hard to predict. It had the ability to bend and strike in unexpected ways.
Azalea was quick to respond. She swung her whip, aiming for Veronica’s face.
Veronica twisted in the air, skillfully avoiding the whip while still pressing forward.
Azalea seemed to read Veronica’s movements. With a quick flick of her wrist, the empty whip changed direction and wrapped around Veronica’s leg.
She quickly made a hand sign, and a blue electric spark began to gather at her fingertips.
“Now!” Azalea called out.
She tapped the whip with her charged fingers. Instantly, a powerful jolt of electricity shot up the whip and surged through Veronica’s body.
Veronica grunted as her body shook uncontrollably. The electric shock left her paralyzed, unable to move.
Even her advanced energy was momentarily thrown off, making it impossible for her to use it.
“What is this technique? Could it be Stormcraft from Sacred Wyrm Summit?” someone wondered.
“No, Stormcraft is too strong. Azalea’s technique must be a rare kind of magic,” another replied.
“Isn’t the Mystic Arts Order known for their poisons and witchcraft? It’s surprising she chose to focus on this kind of magic instead,” said a third.
The spectators were amazed by Azalea’s mix of fire and electricity.
In contrast, the Celestial Alliance’s disciples looked worried.
Despite Veronica’s great strength, Azalea’s strange and unpredictable tactics made it hard to defend against her.
The uncertainty of Azalea’s next move forced Veronica into a defensive stance.
“Celestial Vortex!” Azalea shouted as she raised her hand, channeling her energy to create a massive swirling vortex in the air.
The next moment, the water in the spectators’ glasses seemed to float in the air, rising as if controlled by an unseen force.
Streams of water quickly gathered above Azalea’s head, forming a huge water sphere in just a few moments.
“Ethereal Ice Sphere!” Azalea called out, making a hand gesture and pointing at the frozen Veronica.
From the water sphere, thousands of arrows shot out. As they formed, they froze into sharp frost arrows.
These arrows fell towards Veronica from all sides, creating a relentless attack.
Even if she weren’t frozen in place, dodging would be nearly impossible. With her limbs paralyzed, she had no chance.
“Blood Ward!” Veronica exclaimed, her heart racing as she realized she was in trouble. She bit her tongue, drawing blood, and spat it out in front of her.
The blood, charged with her energy, formed a glowing red shield that appeared in front of her.
Thousands of frost arrows slammed into the Blood Ward. Each hit caused explosive cracks and sent shards of ice flying.
Finally, the rain of frost arrows stopped, but the shield began to crack from the pressure.
Before Veronica could catch her breath, a new wave of frost arrows came rushing down, continuing the attack.
