As Azalea faced the enormous golden wave, her eyes narrowed, and her heart began to race. She had anticipated a few more exchanges before this, but Kendricks’s first move was frightening.

Without a moment’s hesitation, she flicked her wrist and revealed a red paper parasol that seemed to appear out of thin air.

The parasol shone with deep red colors, covered in mysterious runes. As light danced on its surface, the runes began to pulse and swirl as if they were alive.

“The Abyssal Parasol?” the spectators gasped, recognizing the powerful artifact.

The Abyssal Parasol was a strong defensive item known for its dark powers. It had once belonged to the Abyssal Legion, but after their defeat, it was thought to be lost. Surprisingly, it had found its way to the Mystic Arts Order.

“Go!” Azalea shouted as she opened the parasol and pointed it at the golden wave. It soared into the air, shining brightly. A layer of crimson light surrounded her, making it look like she was standing inside a giant eggshell.

The golden wave crashed down with tremendous force, hitting the crimson barrier with a deafening roar. The barrier shook violently, bending and swaying under the relentless attack.

Inside the protective barrier, Azalea focused intently, forming hand seals. As the golden wave continued to strike, her body trembled, and sweat dripped from her forehead.

Even with the Abyssal Parasol shielding her, Kendricks’s assault was overwhelming. In that moment, she realized just how powerful those on the Legendary List were. A single strike from someone like him could easily threaten her life.

“Oh? You still have something else?” Kendricks said, raising an eyebrow in genuine surprise.

Kendricks watched Azalea closely and noticed she had just reached grandmaster level, but her skills were average. Usually, he could defeat her in one strike, so he didn’t feel the need to continue the fight.

He hadn’t anticipated that she would have a defensive divine artifact strong enough to block his attack, but he shrugged it off. From the moment they entered the ring, Kendricks knew he would win. Even with the Abyssal Parasol protecting her, it would take just a little more effort to finish the match.

“I want to see if you can still block my attack,” Kendricks said, raising his golden saber without wasting any time. He swung it toward Azalea from a distance.

A huge wave of golden energy surged forward, more powerful than before, and slammed into her crimson barrier.

The impact created a loud explosion and sent shockwaves through the air. The barrier broke apart instantly, and the Abyssal Parasol hovering above dimmed and fell to the ground.

Azalea, still trying to form her hand seals, stumbled back several steps. Her face turned pale, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. Although the attack hadn’t hit her directly, the force of the blast left her severely injured.

“Let’s see how you block my attack without the Abyssal Parasol,” Kendricks said coldly. Without showing any mercy, he raised his saber again and swung it toward her from a distance.

This strike was just as straightforward and brutal as the last, without any elaborate moves. The golden energy descended like a falling meteor, its power overwhelming.

Azalea’s expression shifted as she quickly pulled a blue talisman from her clothes and threw it at the incoming energy.

The golden aura shattered with a loud bang, and in a flash, a bolt of blue lightning shot toward Kendricks.

He was struck by the lightning.

Kendricks stumbled back several steps. His clothes were torn, and his hair was singed black.

He stood there in shock, staring at the wound on his chest. It had a charred mark where blue lightning had struck him. While the injury wasn’t life-threatening, the pain was unbearable.

What troubled Kendricks more than the pain was the fact that a seemingly weak woman had managed to hurt him. He had expected an easy victory, but instead, he looked ragged and humiliated.

The spectators around them were just as shocked, whispering in disbelief.

“Did I see that right? That beauty injured Kendricks?” one person said.

“It’s not easy to injure the eighth-ranked master on the Legendary List,” another replied.

“Could that blue lightning be the Divine Talisman from Sacred Wyrm Summit?” someone else suggested.

“You’re right. That was definitely the Divine Talisman. No other weapon could have hurt Kendricks,” another voice chimed in.

“But… why would a disciple from the Mystic Arts Order have a Divine Talisman from the Sacred Wyrm Summit?”

The crowd buzzed with confusion. Kendricks being injured was shocking enough, but the fact that he was hurt by a Divine Talisman, which was exclusive to Sacred Wyrm Summit, baffled them. They couldn’t understand how a Mystic Arts disciple could have such a talisman.

“I didn’t expect the Divine Talisman to be this useful. What a pleasant surprise!” Abigail said with a grin from her seat. She then cupped her hands and called out to Caleb, who stood nearby. “Thanks, little monk!”

At her words, everyone turned to look at Caleb, including the Mighty Three: Cyrus, Alloy, and Penelope. Even Kaden, the newly appointed Sage of the Sacred Wyrm Summit, was watching him.

Caleb was speechless. A chill ran down his spine as cold sweat dripped from his brow. He thought, “Damn it, I shouldn’t have made that bet. Now I’ve lost a…”

He stood in front of a stack of Divine Talismans, feeling exposed and embarrassed in front of everyone. He could already picture the punishment he would face when he returned later. Just thinking about it made his head ache.
