An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2363
As Jeremiah dove downward, Dustin took a firm stance, ready with his sword. In a flash, he swung the weapon.
A dark wave of energy shot through the air, powerful enough to split the sky. It rushed toward Jeremiah with incredible speed.
“What?” Jeremiah’s expression shifted as a sudden sense of danger sent chills down his spine.
The sword looked ordinary, but Jeremiah could feel the destructive force behind it. He realized that if it hit him, it could be deadly.
In a split second, he gave up his attack and flapped his wings to dodge in midair. His reflexes were sharp, but the dark wave was faster.
Just as he moved aside, the energy grazed him. Blood burst forth, painting the sky red.
“Ah!” Jeremiah screamed in horror.
The attack had torn through his shoulder, arm, and wing, causing blood to pour down like rain. He stumbled and spun helplessly before crashing onto the battlefield. In one swift move, he had lost a significant part of his body.
“How… How can you be this strong?” Jeremiah scrambled to his feet, his face filled with fear, ignoring his injuries.
He realized that Dustin, now wielding a sword, was a completely different threat. Dustin’s punches and kicks had been impressive before, but they only managed to chip away at Jeremiah’s scales.
Now, with the sword, Dustin seemed like a grim reaper, able to take half his life with just a flick of his wrist.
What scared Jeremiah the most was that the sword’s energy was blocking his healing powers. His wounds weren’t healing as fast as they used to.
“You’ve forced me to draw my sword. I’ll admit, you’re impressive, but this is where it ends.” Dustin raised his Celestial sword, ready for the final blow.
“Blade again!”
“Wait! I surrender…”
Jeremiah’s heart raced as he prepared to give up, but before he could, a second black sword aura shot toward him. Suddenly, everything went quiet, and the tension in the air was heavy with the threat of destruction.
“Ah!” Jeremiah cried out in despair.
In an instant, the black sword aura struck him. His body stiffened for a moment and then burst into a spray of blood and flesh that filled the entire battle ring.
For a brief moment, the venue was silent.
The audience stared in disbelief, their faces frozen in shock. No one had expected Dustin to unleash such power after drawing his sword. He shattered all their expectations.
Jeremiah had recently gained wings, which gave him a huge boost in strength and the ability to fly. With his increased agility and attack power, he was thought to be a tough opponent. Many believed Dustin wouldn’t stand a chance.
But unexpectedly, Dustin not only survived but defeated Jeremiah with ease. With just two quick strikes, he turned the so-called “Demon Master” into a cloud of flesh and blood. The power he displayed was incredible.
“Oh my God! Did I really see that? That beast was taken down just like that?”
“Terrifying! Absolutely terrifying! I’ve never seen such a powerful sword.”
“Two strikes to slay a demon? That’s truly frightening!”
“I didn’t realize he was this strong before. He’s definitely the biggest surprise in this tournament.”
“Who is he? Why haven’t I seen him before?”
“If he’s not on the Legendary List, I’ll be the first to complain.”
After a moment of silence, the crowd erupted into excitement.
Everyone looked at Dustin with excitement, surprise, confusion, and admiration. Most importantly, they felt proud of his victory for their nation.
No matter his past, Dustin was now a citizen of Dragonmarsh. He had bravely defeated a foreign opponent in the battle ring and brought honor to all the martial artists from Dragonmarsh.
“I declare, contestant number eight, Dustin Rhys, the winner!” Oron’s voice echoed throughout the venue.
Even though he usually stayed calm, Dustin was shocked by what he had just accomplished. He realized that neither he nor Jeremiah could have withstood those two powerful strikes.
At such a young age, Dustin showed incredible strength. It seemed that Dragonmarsh had produced another remarkable talent.
“Awesome! Dr. Rhys has won!” Alicia and Aurora shouted with joy.
Grace, sitting nearby, let out a sigh of relief. After seeing Jeremiah turn into a fierce opponent, she was filled with worry. Thankfully, the match had a happy ending, with Dustin as the winner.
“Could it be… him?” Fenley stared at Dustin in the battle ring, his face showing uncertainty.
The earlier strikes had stirred a sense of recognition in him, reminding him of someone he had met a year ago in Oakvale—Logan Rhys, the top master on the Legendary List.
