An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2413

When the fire broke out on Sacred Wyrm Summit, Dustin received the order to attack. He quickly led his team into the Forbidden Ground, following their plan.

The Hall of Gods was invading on a large scale, causing chaos at the summit. People were rushing to put out the fire, leaving the Forbidden Ground unguarded. Most of the regular guards had been reassigned, so only the mountain stood alone, quiet and still.

Despite the lack of guards, Dustin knew he couldn’t underestimate the defenses of Sacred Wyrm Summit. The Forbidden Ground was not easy to enter, as it housed the strongest enchantment circle in the martial world.

When Dustin and his team reached the back of the mountain, they found that two other teams had already arrived.

These teams, hired by the Hall of Gods, were made up of questionable individuals. While their morals were not the best, their strength was clear.

To keep their identities secret, everyone involved wore masks. Dustin’s team wore red demon masks, while the other two teams wore black and white masks.

Each person also had a unique emblem representing the Hall of Gods, which helped distinguish friends from foes.

The leader of the black-mask team was a large man named Danny Gallagher. He had two heavy purple-gold hammers strapped to his waist, and his fierce gaze showed he was not someone to be taken lightly.

The leader of the white-mask team was an elderly man named Marcell Sadrick. He was hunched over, with gray hair and gnarled hands. Occasionally, he coughed, looking frail and weak. However, the respect his team showed him indicated he was important.

“Mr. Sadrick, another team has arrived. Should we let them go in first?” Danny whispered to Marcell.

An elderly man stood quietly, reflecting on the situation. He had met Danny before, and they had formed a brief bond. Their previous exploration showed that the Forbidden Ground was filled with deadly enchantment circles. Entering without an expert could lead to disaster.

As they debated whether to go forward, Dustin and his team arrived. Danny quickly thought they would be great scouts for the journey ahead.

“Good idea. Let the kid lead the way,” Marcell agreed, clearly relieved.

The saying “better him than me” perfectly summed up their feelings. Though they were technically allies with a shared goal, when danger approached, allies could easily become expendable.

“Hey, man! You’re finally here. We’ve been waiting for you,” Danny said, dropping his cool facade and greeting Dustin with a friendly smile, as if they were long-time friends.

“You were waiting for me?” Dustin replied, looking around before staying calm.

“Of course!” Danny beamed.

“We were sent to help you with the treasure hunt. No time to waste. You go in, and we’ll cover you from back here.”

“I appreciate your help,” Dustin said with a slight nod, accepting their offer.

“Not at all. We’re allies. No need for formality,” Danny replied warmly, though he couldn’t help but feel a little smug inside. He had thought it might take some convincing, but he never expected Dustin to agree so easily.

“Stay close, and don’t fall behind,” Dustin instructed as he turned to lead the way into the mountains.

With sharp eyes, he quickly spotted the enchantment circles scattered around. He realized Danny was trying to use him as a pawn to clear the path. But Danny had underestimated both him and the dangers of the Sacred Wrym Summit Forbidden Ground.

As they stepped into the Forbidden Ground, a thick fog suddenly rolled in, appearing out of nowhere. No matter how hard they waved their hands to clear it, the fog quickly returned.

The fog surrounded them completely, making it impossible to see. Visibility dropped to just ten feet, leaving them unsure of which way to go.

The silence was eerie; even loud shouts barely traveled beyond thirty feet.

“This fog is strange. Do you think it’s some kind of magic?” one person asked.

“I can’t tell which way we’re going. Are we going to be stuck here?” another replied, worry creeping into their voice.

“The Forbidden Ground is as dangerous as a dragon’s den or a tiger’s lair. Stay alert, and don’t fall behind!” warned someone else.

They had been walking for a while, but still couldn’t find a way out of the fog. Tension was rising among the group.

It was clear something was wrong. This thick fog felt like a maze, and if they didn’t find a way out soon, they might be trapped forever.

Meanwhile, behind Dustin, Danny and Marcell entered the fog with their team. At first, they planned to let Dustin lead so they could stay safe, but once they were engulfed in the fog, they quickly lost their sense of direction.

The fog confused their senses, and they couldn’t tell which way to go. Before they realized it, they had fallen behind, and Dustin’s team was nowhere in sight.

Now, they were lost, with no idea which direction to take.
