An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2421
“Step forward, and you’re dead!”
Dustin faced a group of desperate assassins, showing no mercy.
With a swing of his long sword, a bright flash of light cut through the darkness, lighting up the night sky like a crescent moon.
The assassins saw a quick flash of white and instinctively halted. When the light faded, those in the front stood frozen, as if they were struck by a spell.
In an instant, heads fell to the ground, like ripe fruit dropping from a tree. The headless bodies remained standing for a moment before collapsing, blood spraying everywhere.
The shocking scene left everyone speechless.
They exchanged worried glances and hesitated to move forward. No one expected Dustin’s sword to be so fast that his enemies couldn’t even defend themselves.
The assassins who had just fallen were among the best, yet none could block even a single strike. The difference in strength was obvious.
“What are you waiting for? Kill him, and the rewards are yours!” Hank shouted.
“Kill him!”
Encouraged by the promise of treasure, they charged forward with newfound courage.
“Reckless fools.” Dustin’s face hardened. He was ready to unleash his full power.
He swung his sword rapidly, sending out sharp bursts of energy that cut down the charging assassins. But for every one he defeated, more rushed at him in an endless wave.
Most of their attacks were useless against him and posed no real danger. Only a few team leaders could present a challenge, but even they couldn’t inflict much damage.
Hank frowned as he realized the tide was turning against them. He had underestimated Dustin’s strength. It finally hit him that anyone who could rise above countless geniuses to win the championship was not to be taken lightly.
“Everyone, team up and take him down! Show him what the Hall of Gods can do!” Hank commanded the six men behind him.
The six men, dressed in black, stood still like statues. Their faces were hidden under masks, and they showed no emotion. Even as their teammates fell around them, they didn’t react at all. They seemed like soulless machines.
When Hank gave the order, they sprang into action. They moved forward in perfect sync, a clear sign of their intense training.
Surrounding Dustin, they paused before attacking. Instead, they tossed a round object into the air, formed hand signs, and began to chant.
Suddenly, the objects released beams of red light. These beams twisted together to create a large, red Hexagonal Formation that hovered above them, stretching over 300 feet wide.
While Dustin was distracted by the assassins, the six men finished their setup. Each placed a hand on the ground and shouted together, “Seal!”
At their command, the Hexagonal Formation descended, passing through everyone before embedding itself in the ground.
In an instant, everyone, including Dustin, felt a heavy weight pressing down on them. It was as if all their strength had vanished.
“What’s happening? Why can’t I use my true energy?” Dustin exclaimed.
“Damn it! I can’t use mine either. What’s going on?” another shouted.
“I can still feel my true energy, but it’s sealed! It has to be that formation!” someone else realized.
The sudden change left them all confused. Without their true energy, they were as weak as ordinary people in a fight.
However, those who focused on physical strength had an advantage. Without true energy, their raw power allowed them to stand out.
“Stay calm!” Hank urged.
Hank spoke up at a critical moment. “This is a sealing formation created by the Hall of Gods. It’s designed to handle elite martial artists.”
He went on, “Once it’s activated, even an Ultimate Grandmaster can’t use their internal energy for a while. Now, you can fight him without worrying about his power.”
Hank’s words eased everyone’s fears. For them, sealing Dustin’s internal energy was a huge advantage. Without it, he could only rely on his physical strength, which made him much weaker.
In their eyes, Dustin seemed vulnerable. He might have looked fierce, but without his energy-based fighting skills, he was less of a threat.
“You didn’t see this coming, did you?” Hank sneered. “This formation was meant for the elites of the Sacred Wyrm Summit, and now it’s being used on you. How does it feel to be powerless?”
“So, you had this all planned out,” Dustin said, narrowing his eyes. “I guess I underestimated the Hall of Gods.”
As the formation had descended earlier, his pure mystical energy had been sealed. Now, he understood that the Hall of Gods had prepared thoroughly to take on the Sacred Wyrm Summit’s best.
“For the sake of our past friendship, I’m giving you one last chance. Surrender and pledge your loyalty to the Hall of Gods, and I’ll spare your life. What do you say?” Hank looked confident, as if he already knew he would win.
“Spare my life?” Dustin chuckled. “You think sealing my power means you have the upper hand? Even without it, I can still kill you with my sword. Want to try?”
“Do you really think you can kill me? You’re too arrogant,” Hank sneered. “Since you refuse to cooperate, don’t blame me for what happens next. Everyone, kill him!”
“Kill him!” they shouted.
The group raised their weapons and charged at Dustin. It didn’t matter that he was an ultimate grandmaster. The sealing formation had taken away his internal energy, leaving him feeling as weak as a half-paralyzed man. The powerful techniques he once used were now out of reach.
Despite the tough situation, the attackers had the advantage in numbers. Using a basic swarm tactic, they believed their combined strength would be enough to win.
“Just like a swarm of moths flying into the fire,” Dustin said with a smirk. Instead of backing down, he charged forward to meet them head-on.
Dustin had trained not only in cultivation but also in body refinement. He was a rare example of someone who mastered both mental discipline and physical strength. Even though his cultivation was sealed, he was still a force to be reckoned with, thanks to his physical power and advanced sword skills.
