An Understated Dominance - Chapter 256
“It’s over. It’s all over now.” Isfrid looked at the scene in front of her, her face pale and filled with despair. She had entered with confidence, but she never expected to face Darkwrath here. In terms of strength, she knew she was outmatched.
“Let me help.” Dustin had somehow appeared next to her.
“You?” Isfrid frowned. “I can’t defeat him. What can you do? Just go! Don’t risk your life!” Even though she doubted him, she didn’t want him to die for nothing. “Hey! I’m talking to you.” Her frustration grew as she saw his calm expression.
“This guy is unpredictable. He’s in the top ten of The Hundred Immortals. You can’t win against him. I’ll buy you some time. Escape while you can! When you get back, tell Mrs. Harmon to send a skilled fighter. Go!” She shouted her last command.
As the leader of team five, Isfrid couldn’t leave her teammates behind and run away. She needed someone else to deliver the message.
“So what if he’s ranked eighth? He’s just an ant.” Dustin, with a cold expression, stepped forward.
“Are you crazy? This isn’t the time to be brave! You can’t beat him. You’re just walking into death.” Isfrid felt a mix of anxiety and anger. She had never seen anyone so foolish as to choose a losing battle. This guy was hopeless.
“Kid, you should have listened to her. If you had run away earlier, you might have had a chance to live. But now, goodbye.” Darkwrath smirked, licking the blood from his steel claws like a madman.
“Where’s Natasha? Let her go, and I’ll let you live,” Dustin said coldly.
Everyone was shocked. No one expected him to say that.
“Kiddo, you’re pretty brave for someone about to die. I guess I need to teach you a lesson about my power!” Darkwrath replied, losing his patience.
With a sudden move, Darkwrath lunged at Dustin like a rocket. As he got closer, he waved his hand, and his steel claws glimmered, aiming straight for Dustin’s throat.
“Run!” Istrid shouted. That was the same move that had killed most of her team. Even she might struggle to dodge it.
“Can you outrun me?” Darkwrath grinned, speeding up.
“Lend me your sword,” Dustin said. With a tap of his foot, the sword on the floor sprang up and landed firmly in his hands.
He flicked his wrist, and the blade shot toward Darkwrath with a shining arc and a loud whistle. The sound of metal clashing filled the air as the shimmering blade shattered Darkwrath’s claws and pierced through his neck. His body froze, as if turned to stone, and a thin line of blood began to trickle from his throat. Soon, that line widened into a deep wound.
In the next moment, Darkwrath’s head rolled off and hit the ground with a thud, coming to rest at Istrid’s feet. His wide eyes stared up at her, reflecting regret as he took his last breath.
