An Understated Dominance - Chapter 266
The next morning at Peaceful Medical Center, Dustin woke up early. He washed his face and started making breakfast, his favorite dish: deviled eggs. The smell filled the kitchen and made him smile. Just as he set the food on the dining table, Dahlia walked in.
“Wow, that smells amazing!” she exclaimed. Today, she wore a smart suit and heels. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail, showing off her slender neck. She looked delighted to see the breakfast. “Are those deviled eggs? How did you know I hadn’t eaten yet, Dustin? Since you made this for me, I won’t hold back!” She sat down and eagerly started eating.
“This isn’t—” Dustin began to say something, but his bedroom door swung open, revealing a stunning woman.
“Darling, I’m starving! Is breakfast ready?” It was Natasha, dressed in an oversized shirt. As she stretched, the shirt slipped down, showing a hint of cleavage. She and Dahlia locked eyes, both surprised.
“What are you doing here?” they asked at the same time. The tension in the room was thick.
“Dustin, what’s going on?” Dahlia glared at him. She noticed that Natasha was wearing his shirt, and it was obvious something was off.
“Don’t jump to conclusions. It’s not what you think,” Dustin tried to explain, but Natasha interrupted him.
“Since we’ve been caught, we might as well be honest. There’s nothing to hide!” she said with a smirk.
“So, you slept with her?” Dahlia bit her lip, feeling a wave of jealousy. She had always believed Dustin could be faithful, but now she wasn’t so sure.
“Why ask when it’s so clear?” Natasha said, pulling her shirt down to reveal more of herself.
“Nothing happened,” Dustin said, rubbing his temples as a headache started to form. “Ms. Harmon was injured yesterday, so I brought her here to treat her. That’s all.”
Dahlia looked closely at Natasha and noticed her wounds. Even so, jealousy crept into her voice. “Why didn’t she go to a hospital if she was hurt? Why come here?”
“I can go wherever I want. It’s my choice,” Natasha replied with a smirk. “And if I’m not mistaken, you two are divorced, right? So, it’s none of your business if something were to happen between me and Dustin.”
“Divorced or not, we could always remarry!” Dahlia shot back, her eyes narrowed defiantly.
“Do you think marriage and divorce are a joke? What do you think of Dustin?” Natasha’s smile faded. “Ms. Nicholson, wanting more than what you had can be greedy. You chose to walk away, so you have to face the consequences.”
“Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is realizing them and trying to make things right. I messed up before, but now I’ll do everything I can to make it up to him!” Dahlia glanced at Dustin, hinting at her intentions.
“Since you won’t back down, let’s see who’s better at this.”
