An Understated Dominance - Chapter 305
Time flew by, and two days later, news of Tatum challenging Dustin to a duel spread quickly. Martial artists from far and wide came to watch the event.
Tatum Thunders was the principal disciple of Royal Valor and known as the Fanatic Blade of the Heavenly Immortals. Dustin Rhys, on the other hand, was a rising star, often called a dark horse in the martial arts world.
Many eager spectators woke up before dawn to make their way to Mount Halgue. By the time they arrived, the foot of the mountain was packed with people.
“I didn’t know there would be this many spectators,” Dustin said, surprised by the crowd. He had thought it was just an ordinary duel.
“That’s how it is in Boulderthorn,” Maximus replied. “Whenever a famous disciple challenges someone, their guild promotes the event to show off their strength. It’s an unspoken rule among guilds.” Maximus was familiar with the scene.
“Really?” Dustin smiled. “If that’s the case, wouldn’t they be embarrassed if they lose?”
“Lose?” Maximus chuckled. The corner of his mouth twitched. “This is Tatum Thunders we’re talking about. Even among his peers, he rarely has any opponents. The guild is confident they will win, which is why they invited so many witnesses, including disciples from other guilds.”
“Dustin, it’s not too late to back out. Are you sure you want to go through with this?” Maximus asked cautiously.
“Why turn back now that we’re halfway there? Let’s go. I want to meet him,” Dustin said, stretching as he started up the stairs.
As they climbed, they suddenly heard a fierce battle nearby. Dustin turned to see a group of burly men attacking an old man in the dense forest next to the path. Despite his white hair, the old man was holding his ground against the attackers.
Despite his frail appearance, the old man moved with surprising agility, surprising his attackers. A group of men found it hard to fight him off.
A young girl stood behind the elderly man.
“How dare they attack an old man! I’ll help him!” Maximus shouted as he rushed forward with determination. Dustin shook his head but followed him anyway.
“Hey! What are you guys doing?” the young girl called out, stopping them in their tracks.
“I’m going to help him!” Maximus replied, pointing to the old man.
“It’s fine. Those guys won’t hurt my grandpa,” she insisted.
“He’s your grandfather?” Maximus asked, surprised. “Aren’t you worried he might get hurt?”
The girl puffed out her chest with pride. “My grandfather’s Ralph Dunn, the leader of the Steel Legion! Those guys are no match for him, just watch!”
Hearing this, Maximus stepped back and watched the fight unfold.
After exchanging a few more blows, Ralph put in more effort. He began striking the men with fierce palm attacks. The attackers, unable to withstand the force, quickly became injured and started to vomit blood.
“Damn it! He’s a beast! Retreat!” the leader shouted, and everyone else hurried to follow him, eager to escape.
“Humph! How dare those losers think they could take advantage of me with their pathetic skills!” Ralph scoffed.
