An Understated Dominance - Chapter 328
Zoey was thrilled and said, “Adriana, there’s hope! If Gordon can convince Mr. Langford, I’m sure you’ll be safe!”
“That’s great! Thank you so much, Gordon!” Adriana exclaimed, her gratitude shining through.
“It’s nothing. I’m just helping a friend,” Gordon replied, waving his hand like it was no big deal.
“Alright, since we’ve sorted that out, let’s grab a few more drinks!” Zeke suggested, calling his driver and leading them to his car.
Just as they were about to leave, more than ten black SUVs pulled up outside the restaurant, surrounding it completely. A group of fighters with batons stepped out, their expressions fierce as they rushed into the restaurant.
“Wow! Aren’t those the Langfords’ men?” Zeke’s eyes widened, and he felt a wave of anxiety. He realized they had narrowly escaped. If they had taken even two minutes longer, they might have been caught.
“Natasha, is your boyfriend going to be okay?” Adriana asked, concerned. Dustin had saved her earlier, and she didn’t want anything to happen to him.
“Don’t worry. He can handle himself,” Natasha said with a small smile. She knew he was capable and could easily take on a few ordinary fighters.
“I’m not so sure. He only has two fists. Even if he’s skilled, how can he take on so many?” Gordon shook his head, but he couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased about Dustin’s situation.
“You’re right! The Langfords have lots of skilled martial artists. How would he stand a chance?” Zeke frowned.
To them, it seemed like Dustin was just looking for trouble. They believed that if he faced the Langfords’ fighters, it would be the end for him.
Natasha chose not to argue further since they didn’t believe her anyway.
Meanwhile, inside the private room…
In the restaurant, Dustin was quietly enjoying his meal when suddenly the door was kicked open. A group of fighters rushed in and surrounded him quickly.
The man who had fainted earlier jumped up, looking fierce. “Hey, punk! My backup is here. You’re dead meat this time!” It was clear he had been pretending to be unconscious.
Dustin shook his head, unimpressed. “Is this all you brought? I expected an army.”
“Still talking back when you’re about to die? Kill him!” shouted the middle-aged man in charge.
As dozens of fighters raised their weapons to attack, someone yelled from the entrance, “Hold it!”
Everyone turned to see Dahlia rushing in, dressed in stylish clothes.
Dustin frowned when he saw her. Why did he keep running into her?
“I thought I was mistaken, but it really is you,” she said, her expression a mix of surprise and concern as she looked at him.
“So what if it’s me? I told you not to show up again,” Dustin replied coldly.
Dahlia frowned at his tone but quickly turned to the middle-aged man. “Mr. Atwood, what’s happening here?”
“Mrs. Langford, this punk interfered with our business. I was about to teach him a lesson. With your status, I suggest you step aside so you don’t ruin your clothes,” Mr. Atwood said with an apologetic smile.
“Mr. Atwood, he’s a friend of mine. Can you let him go?” Dahlia asked.
“A friend?” he said, slightly annoyed. He didn’t like being slapped earlier and was reluctant.
“Do my words not matter? Should I call Luis to talk to you?” Dahlia’s expression turned serious.
“No, no! Please don’t misunderstand, Mrs. Langford. Since he’s your friend, we won’t touch him,” Mr. Atwood said awkwardly, waving his hand to signal his men to stand down.
“Mrs. Langford? How impressive,” Dustin said with a sneer, showing no appreciation for her efforts. His cold tone made it clear he didn’t care.
