An Understated Dominance - Chapter 341
Kingston forced a smile. “Stop pretending we’re friends!” Adam was showing him no respect. “Weren’t the Langfords acting all high and mighty just a moment ago? Come on, show me how arrogant you can be!”
Kingston’s expression darkened at those words. If anyone else had humiliated him today, he would have lost his temper long ago. But he couldn’t afford to upset the man standing in front of him.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? You were so proud just now! You even bullied my friend!” Adam pointed at them, ready to unleash his anger.
Kingston and Luis lowered their heads and fell silent.
The guests were shocked. Who would have thought that Kingston from the Langford family would be publicly scolded and not dare to respond? It was truly surprising.
“What are you waiting for? Kneel down and apologize to my friend right now!” Adam shouted.
“This…” Kingston frowned, feeling gloomy.
As a member of the Langford family, how could he possibly kneel to someone else? If others found out, their reputation would be ruined.
“Adam, you’re going too far!” Luis said, clearly upset.
Adam raised his hand and slapped Luis across the face. “Do you think you can stop me?”
Luis opened his mouth to respond, but before he could say anything, Adam slapped him again.
“I’ll break your legs if you don’t apologize today!” Adam was very assertive.
Luis’s eyes burned with anger as he gritted his teeth. Despite his rage, he knew he couldn’t afford to confront someone like Adam.
“Get on your knees and apologize!” Adam yelled again.
Just when Luis was about to give in, a strong voice interrupted. “Adam, do you really think it’s right to treat my Langfords this way?”
A big, bearded man with a commanding presence entered the room. It was Ethan Langford, the head of the Langford family!
“Uncle Ethan!” Kingston and Luis exclaimed, their eyes lighting up with hope. They felt like they had found their savior. They knew they couldn’t stand up to Adam on their own.
But Ethan was different. He held an important position and had great power, just like Adam. In fact, even Adam had to show Ethan some respect because of his seniority.
With Ethan there, Adam couldn’t bully them anymore.
“Oh, Mr. Ethan, I didn’t expect to see you here,” Adam said, surprised.
“Today is my nephew’s engagement ceremony, so it’s only natural for me to attend,” Ethan replied calmly. “I’m glad I arrived in time; otherwise, the Langfords would have been at your mercy.”
“Mr. Ethan, they were the ones causing trouble. I was just helping you out,” Adam said with a forced smile.
“Hmph! Even if they made a mistake, you, as an outsider, have no right to punish them!” Ethan’s eyes were cold.
“What if I choose to do so anyway?” Adam challenged, raising an eyebrow.
“Then we’ll see if you can back up your words,” Ethan said, waving his hand.
At that moment, two older men with white hair appeared behind Ethan. One was taller than the other, and their confident stance made it clear that they were very powerful.
Seeing them made Adam’s expression change.
