Dustin stepped out of Nicholson Villa and was about to make a call when his phone rang. It was Roderick Brooks.

“Hello, Mr. Brooks! I was just about to look for you. What a coincidence!” Dustin said as he answered.

“Oh? What can I do for you, Mr. Rhys?” Roderick sounded surprised.

“I have a friend who’s in trouble and needs some money. Can I borrow some from you?” Dustin asked.

“Phew, you scared me! I thought it was something serious. So you just need money? No problem! I might not have much else, but I do have money. How much does your friend need?” Roderick sighed with relief.

“One billion,” Dustin replied.

“Not an issue! I’ll send it to you tomorrow,” Roderick said.

“Thank you, Mr. Brooks,” Dustin said.

“Just call me Roderick. You helped me with my illness, so no need for formality!” Roderick responded warmly.

“Congratulations again on your recovery! By the way, is there a reason you called me?” Dustin asked, changing the topic.

“Yes! Remember I mentioned looking for some rare herbs? I just heard that Alorith has found some treasures. It seems the Heliotrope, also known as the thousand-year green lotus, is among them!” Roderick shared.

Dustin was taken aback. “The thousand-year green lotus? Are you sure?” His eyes widened with excitement. He only needed three more rare herbs to create Longevitum: the flower of Crimson Gem, Cherusia, and the thousand-year green lotus. Hearing about the lotus so soon was a wonderful surprise.

“It should be true. That’s how they advertised it,” Roderick replied.

As the bidding continued, the excitement in the room grew. People shouted out offers, and the atmosphere was electric. Roderick leaned closer to Dustin, “I’ve heard that this lotus has incredible healing properties. That’s why so many people want it.”

“Exactly,” Dustin said, his eyes focused on the stage. “It’s not just a pretty flower; it’s a treasure.”

Finally, the announcer called out, “Next up, the thousand-year green lotus!”

The crowd erupted with cheers and shouts. Roderick felt a rush of adrenaline as they prepared to bid. He turned to Dustin, “Let’s make sure we get it.”

“Absolutely,” Dustin replied, his determination clear.

As the bidding began, Roderick raised his paddle, ready to compete for the rare lotus. The excitement in the air was palpable, and they were both eager to see how high the bids would go.

“Give up!” the woman in the baseball cap said coldly.

Roderick forced a smile. “Miss, don’t you think you’re a bit too confident to claim that as yours before the bidding even starts?”

“Confidence comes from power. If I want something, I will get it. Just a warning for you two: don’t challenge me, or you’ll embarrass yourselves,” she replied, tilting her head.

Roderick laughed softly. “You have quite the temper for someone your age.”

He had met many wealthy young women like her before, who thought they could flaunt their money.
