Fox entered the elevator, and Evan attempted to follow her in, but she kicked him out.

The secretary witnessed the girl in red kicking Evan out of the elevator. He fell backward and sat on the floor, looking both embarrassed and amusing.

The secretary laughed quietly, quickly stifling his laughter for fear that the boss might see him and fire him.

The elevator doors closed.

Evan got up from the ground, rubbing his stomach and muttering, “That kick was so strong; it hurts a lot.”

The elevator had already descended, and he couldn’t catch up now.

With no other option, he had to walk back.

Suddenly, he recalled his grandmother’s advice and hoped he wouldn’t regret this in the future.

He considered a step-by-step approach, similar to what other brothers had taken, following his grandmother’s path to find a wife. After spending over three months with Abby, he managed to win her heart, yet he could not win his own.

He could be friends with Abby, but he couldn’t envision them as a couple because he lacked that deep emotional connection with her.

Marriage is a lifelong commitment. He felt that if he couldn’t fall in love with the person his grandma had chosen for him, he shouldn’t marry her; otherwise, he would be unhappy and miss out on Abby.

It would be best for both him and Abby to clarify their feelings.

Let her end the relationship as soon as she can. Grandma has advised her to leave him alone and let him pursue the girl he likes, as long as he doesn’t regret it later. A true man acts without regrets!

When Evan saw the secretary, he walked over and then paused. The secretary quickly stated, “Mr. York, I didn’t see anything.” After a moment of silence, Evan replied, “If you saw it, then you saw it. If you want to laugh, go ahead. It’s not good to hold it in. Honestly, I find it a bit funny too. I backed up, tripped, and ended up sitting down. It was quite embarrassing.”

The secretary stifled his laughter and reassured Evan, “Mr. York, it’s alright. No one else will laugh at you. The girl in red might just be too angry. Debt collectors can’t get any money, right? Mr. York, is there a problem with our company? We’re still able to pay wages normally. Did you borrow money from the girl in red? How much was it?”

Evan’s dark eyes flickered as he responded, “You think I owe her money? It’s not about that. In short, it’s a private matter and doesn’t affect the company’s operations. As long as she doesn’t kick me to death, our company will stay solvent. Even if she did, the company would keep running. I have many brothers who would step in and ensure my hard work isn’t wasted.”

The secretary sighed. “Mr. York, don’t talk about death. You’re still young and don’t even have a girlfriend, so you can’t die. We can’t say you’ll live to be a hundred, but it’s fine to aim for eighty or ninety. We just want to ensure it’s unrelated to the company.”

The secretary looked relieved. “Mr. York, when you mentioned owing her a debt, it scared me half to death. I was already thinking that even if I don’t receive my salary, I still have to…”

Evan smiled and reassured, “Don’t worry, our company is doing fine. If any issues arise, I will find a solution. I have many brothers; if each of them invests a small amount in me, our company can keep running.”
