Chapter 3371
Kathryn glanced at Marco briefly and said, “I’m quite busy right now, and Mom isn’t in Jensburg. If you run into trouble, I won’t have time to help you sort it out.”
Marco replied, “No, no, every day I’m either at work or at my mother-in-law’s house arguing with your sister-in-law. I don’t have time to get into trouble. Besides, I’m already in my forties. If I do find myself in a bind, I’ll handle it myself. I wouldn’t dream of asking you to help me clean up.”
“That’s best. Go back to work, brother. I’m leaving now,” Kathryn said as she stood up and walked around the desk.
The siblings exited the office together.
Marco was curious about what Kathryn was doing outside, but she remained tight-lipped, leaving him in the dark.
Once in the elevator, Kathryn stood at the front, her posture straight. Dressed in a women’s suit, she appeared quite impressive.
Marco muttered a few curses silently.
He maintained a gentle smile on his face.
When the elevator arrived at his floor, the doors opened.
Marco stepped out.
Kathryn continued on to the next floor.
As Marco passed by the secretary’s desk, he paused and approached her. The secretary looked up at him.
“Please ask Kathryn’s secretary what she’s doing outside.”
The secretary replied, “Vice President Farrell’s secretary is very discreet and won’t easily share her schedule. Manager Janzen, since you’re the vice president’s older brother, why not ask her yourself?”
Marco hesitated and said, “Never mind.”
He handed the document that Kathryn had signed and sealed to the secretary, saying, “Kathryn has signed and sealed this.”
This task would typically fall to his secretary, but he took it upon himself.

The secretary took the job primarily to gain insider information about Kathryn. He was aware that Kathryn and Liberty often had private interactions. He attempted to orchestrate encounters between Liberty and other people but was unsuccessful. It was uncertain if Liberty would approach Kathryn with any questions. If Liberty had any doubts, the first suspects would undoubtedly be the Farrell family.
Just moments ago, Kathryn appeared to be testing Marco, trying to extract information from him. Marco had a hunch that Kathryn might be planning to meet with Liberty. He had arranged everything so meticulously that, even if it didn’t work out, nobody would suspect it was a conspiracy. He assumed that Liberty would remain oblivious.
Although he had his doubts, Liberty lacked concrete evidence. He was concerned that Kathryn might meddle in the situation and allow Pedro to conduct an investigation. Marco was particularly cautious of Pedro, fully aware of the influence wielded by an assistant close to the family head or the young master.
He couldn’t comprehend how they managed to compel well-informed individuals to cooperate with them. If he could enlist the help of someone like that, he wouldn’t have to worry. Unfortunately, he felt unqualified to take over the Farrell family.
After returning to his office and sitting down to think, Marco decided to call the two young female drivers. When he inquired about their follow-up actions, he learned they had apologized to Liberty and subsequently left the Fortress Hotel. Feeling slightly relieved that he wasn’t under suspicion, he then contemplated, ‘What if Liberty does suspect me? What if she has proof?’
Deep down, he wished for Liberty’s demise.
