Kathryn remarked, “Yes, the old man has lived to this day, so I believe he is in good health. Kathryn understood Clarissa all too well.
Liberty reassured her, “Don’t worry about that. The old man is safe now.”
They were living comfortably in Wiltspoon, protected by legendary masters, with the old gentleman residing there. Even if Clarissa wanted to harm him, succeeding in Wiltspoon would be quite difficult.
Clarissa didn’t intend to extend her influence to Wiltspoon, as she was focused on training Carrie to be her pawn. However, Carrie was later suspected and ultimately abandoned by Clarissa.
Anyone from the Farrell family who dared to challenge Wiltspoon would meet a swift end.
Clarissa was well aware that achieving anything significant in Wiltspoon would be a formidable task.

Neither of them spoke.
Suddenly, silence filled the air.
“Ring, ring, ring.”
Kathryn’s cell phone broke the silence, ringing insistently.
She pulled out her phone and glanced at the caller ID; it was Mr. Fraser calling.
Thinking Mr. Fraser had come to pick her up sooner than expected, Kathryn answered the call in front of Liberty.
“Miss, matriarch Farrell has returned. She just arrived at the airport. If you…
“Come back now; you can get home before she does,” he urged.
Kathryn frowned. “Is she back already? When I spoke to her on the phone just now, she couldn’t confirm.”
It dawned on Kathryn that her mom had a knack for launching surprise attacks.
“Alright, I understand. I’ll be back soon,” Kathryn replied, not feeling rushed.
She wasn’t far from the city center and was confident she would arrive home before her mom.
Even if Clarissa got home first, it wouldn’t be a big deal. Currently, she was leading the Farrell Group, managing business affairs and social engagements, often staying busy until late at night. This was normal for her.
Kathryn had just received confirmation from Liberty about news regarding the old gentleman in Wiltspoon when she learned that Clarissa had returned. It appeared that Clarissa had not met with the old gentleman and was unaware of his whereabouts.
Pedro said, “No need to hurry, Miss. Drive slowly.”
Kathryn replied, “I’m not rushing. I didn’t even know my mom was coming back. I was busy as usual. How could I welcome her? Let’s have dinner together later.”
That said, Kathryn still needed to head back to the city center.
Pedro responded, “Okay, I’ll wait for you at the hotel.”
Once they ended their call, Kathryn turned to Liberty. “Let’s avoid discussing people during the day and gods at night. Just come when you say you will. You just asked me when my mom would be back, and now I’ve heard from Mr. Fraser that she just arrived at the airport. She really doesn’t trust any of her four children and didn’t even inform us of her return.”
Kathryn spoke the last sentence with a hint of self-deprecation. She felt that her mom’s life must be exhausting, especially since even her own children were not considered trustworthy.
Mom and Kathryn didn’t quite see eye to eye, but Kathryn felt normal again.
Liberty said, “She was away from home when she received some news. She went to check it out, but it didn’t pan out. When she realized you weren’t fooled, she returned unexpectedly. She didn’t want you to find out right away; she wanted to surprise you!”
Liberty then stood up and said, “I was going to treat you to a meal. Since you mentioned wanting to have dinner with Mr. Fraser, I won’t be the third wheel. Do you two want to enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner?”
