Chapter 3377
Kathryn responded candidly, “I don’t know. My mom hasn’t answered my brother and me on the phone. If she did, she might pick him up carefully and set him down gently. After all, he is her biological son.”
Liberty replied, “I understand. I won’t do anything illegal for him, but I can make his life miserable for years. By the way, hasn’t your sister-in-law divorced your brother yet?”
“Not yet.” Kathryn paused for a moment, then added, “Even though they are my biological brothers, from a woman’s perspective, I can’t help but think of them as sc*mbags.”
Having learned from Marco and Erika’s experience, Noel and Sage treated their wives much better.
This change was also influenced by Shiloh’s death.
They recognized the cruelty of their mother and were careful not to act presumptuously.
Anya and Amora had already forgiven their husbands (Noel and Sage), and things appeared to be returning to normal. Kathryn didn’t mind since both couples still wanted to lead fulfilling lives.
Regardless, they needed to see their chosen path through to the end.
Kathryn had supported her sisters-in-law in every way she could.
Liberty sipped her tea, observing Kathryn as she drank.
Kathryn asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Liberty replied, “Don’t overlook Mr. Fraser. He is quite suitable for you and would be absolutely loyal. If you marry him, you wouldn’t have to worry about betrayal.”
Kathryn’s face turned slightly red. “I’m not in the mood to think about marriage right now. Let’s see how our relationship unfolds. I can’t predict the future. Sigh, why are there so many disputes in the world?”
“Can’t you just focus on your own piece of land and live peacefully?”
“Are you content with your own life?”
Liberty paused for a moment before responding, “People’s hearts are never truly satisfied. Once they have a little, they crave more. When they obtain more, they desire even more. It’s easy to claim you can be content, but how many people can genuinely achieve that?”
After reflecting on this, Kathryn chuckled at herself: “Yes, I do want more.”
After finishing her cup of tea, she suddenly inquired, “Mr. Fraser mentioned that you’ve made a new discovery in Wiltspoon. Did you find my aunt’s former assistant? Is he still alive?”
Liberty was unaware of the specifics but was certain of one thing: the old assistant was indeed alive and had come to Wiltspoon. She wasn’t sure about his current situation, but Serenity had mentioned that Audrey would call her in the evening.
She was still anticipating Audrey’s call.
“Yes, he is alive,” Liberty confirmed to Kathryn, choosing not to conceal this information.
She was also interested in gauging whether Kathryn was sincere in her earlier statements.
Kathryn was taken aback.
She had actually found someone, and he was alive and well.
Did this mean the truth was about to come to light?
When would it all be revealed?
After a moment, Kathryn asked with concern, “Is the old man alright?”
“I don’t have the details. Serenity sent me a message saying that she had found the old man, but she didn’t provide any further information. He’s nearly a hundred years old and still alive, which suggests he is in good health.”
Liberty chose not to disclose to Kathryn that the old man had been rescued by an elderly doctor and others.
Thanks to the care from the old doctor and his apprentice, the old man had managed to survive until now. Perhaps his persistent desire for revenge also contributed to his resilience.
