Chapter 3398
Evan glanced at her several times, but he remained silent. He thought to himself, She is laughing like a fool. Why would Grandpa Ezequiel choose her as his apprentice? She didn’t seem exceptional, apart from her good looks.
Evan had never witnessed the skills of the old masters; he had only heard their legends. Grandma spoke highly of them, claiming they were incredible. Their disciples were equally powerful.
Evan had met Dr. Carden, who was impressive. He acknowledged that Dr. Carden had cured his second sister-in-law’s eyesight. What talents did Bianca possess?
“Fourth Young Master York, you can just take me outside. I can catch a taxi on my own. I won’t stay at the Wiltspoon Hotel either. Your Wiltspoon Hotel is quite pricey—over a thousand a night. I have nothing to do lately, and I can’t afford such an expensive hotel.” Bianca spoke to Evan while watching a video.
Evan was willing to help her, but he needed to follow his grandmother’s instructions. He replied, “Grandma asked me to take you to the Wiltspoon Hotel and help you check in. You don’t need to pay; I’ll cover it. You are our honored guest; we can’t let our honored guests pay.”
Bianca countered, “Grandma York doesn’t have clairvoyance or super hearing. She can’t see or hear our conversation. I know you don’t want to take me home. I don’t like to impose. I accepted your car due to the elders’ arrangement. Primarily, it’s not easy to get a taxi here; outside cars have difficulty entering.”
This villa area was upscale and highly secure. Otherwise, businesses wouldn’t choose to settle here. Taxis were likely prohibited, making it hard for her to get one. Hence, she opted for Evan’s car.
She could sense that Evan was reluctant to take her home. “No, it’s nothing. Miss Bianca, my…”
Grandma arranged for me to see you off. I promised her I would, so I have to follow through.”
Evan attempted to suppress his displeasure. “Miss Bianca, what kind of work do you do? Where are you employed?”
He shifted the conversation.
Bianca responded, “I mentioned that I don’t have a proper job; I just engage in some questionable activities. Do you believe me?”
Evan replied, “I find that hard to believe. The older generation is respected. You’re the disciple of Grandpa Ezequiel (Silver Fox). How could you be involved in anything shady?”
Bianca smiled and said, “My master may not teach an apprentice to be a thief, but a master thief certainly can.”
Evan was at a loss for words.
Bianca elaborated, “I’ve lived with my master since I was four. I only returned to my family after becoming a master myself. My master has a strong bond with both thieves and doctors. These old friends are so close they might as well share the same pants.
They maintain a tight-knit relationship. Although they all have their own apprentices, they still pass on valuable knowledge to us. We learned a great deal, except for the skills of the miraculous doctor—those were beyond our grasp. Most of what we learned came from others. If I didn’t mention that my master is the Silver Fox, no one would suspect it.”
The primary reason for this is that she had absorbed too many complex teachings.
She wasn’t particularly interested in the skills of a miraculous doctor; medicine and poison were too intricate for her to master. After more than ten or twenty years, she had only a superficial understanding of medical theory.
She couldn’t compare to Sister Lilian Carden at all.
Bianca added, “What I enjoy most is being a thief. My master excels at stealing things. Whenever he desires something, he knows just how to obtain it.”
If he desires something, he can take it without anyone noticing. I lack that kind of ability.
When she wants something, she can obtain it. However, her upbringing did not permit her to engage in any deceitful actions.
Her parents cannot afford to lose face.
With her master and the others, she can act freely. Still, it is wise to avoid actions that go against the natural order, as the old fortune teller warned of potential retribution.
In her original family, she must consider many factors. Above all, she must not tarnish the family’s reputation or bring shame to her parents.
