Chapter 3403
“Master, you always do this. You hang up on me when I ask you to. You’re getting old, yet you still consume so much barbecue and alcohol. I’ve mentioned it countless times, but you never listen,” Bianca complained.
She chose to overlook the fact that every time they visited Ezequiel, they brought him fine wine and delicious food.
As he ages, he tends to revert to childlike behavior.
He simply enjoys eating and drinking.
Fortunately, with Dr. Carden and her apprentice present, they didn’t need to worry about the health of the older gentlemen.
The following morning, the York family arranged for several luxury cars to transport the seniors.
Only Old Mr. Jimenez was in poor health, so he remained with the Stone family.
Last night, Audrey had called Mrs. Lewis to schedule a meeting for that day.
After having breakfast with Old Mr. Jimenez, Audrey reached out to Serenity.
She wanted to discuss Liberty and Duncan with Mrs. Lewis. Although Serenity was the younger sister, with their parents gone, she was one of the few relatives who could support her older sister. Naturally, Serenity wanted to contribute to her sister’s future happiness.
“Seren, are you awake?” Audrey inquired.
“Auntie, I’m on my way to your house, but I haven’t eaten breakfast yet. Please save some for me, just a bowl of porridge and some pickled cabbage. I’ve really developed a taste for pickled cabbage lately,” Serenity replied.
Since becoming pregnant, she had craved sour foods more than ever.
Audrey smiled and said, “We have everything you like to eat. Since you adore sour food so much, your daughter’s future is doomed.”
“They say sour boys and spicy girls,” Serenity remarked.
“That’s not necessarily true. When my sister was pregnant with Sonny, she craved meat—both sour and spicy. My sister experienced all the symptoms that many people talk about for pregnancy.”
“Having a daughter, she gave birth to a son.”
“Alright, I’ll ask the kitchen to prepare some pickled cabbage for you now. It’s been a while since we’ve had pickled cabbage. Only Alice enjoyed it during her pregnancy, but now that she has given birth, she won’t even touch it.”
It’s common for cravings during pregnancy to change once the baby is born, as appetites often return to normal.
Audrey inquired, “Are you here alone, or is Zachary with you?”
“Zachary and I are heading back to Wildridge Manor. The older family members are all there, and Zachary’s brothers need to return to be with them.”
“Mr. and Mrs. Bucham are also coming back today. They should arrive at Wildridge Manor soon, as they heard the older family members were in Wiltspoon and flew back early this morning.”
Julian had to wait until Kiera was on vacation to return to Wiltspoon. Kiera had asked him to come back sooner, but he declined.
Their relationship was stable, and Julian hoped to obtain their marriage certificate before the New Year, but Kiera felt that was too hasty. They ultimately agreed to get the certificate after the New Year and plan the wedding for March.
Julian’s pursuit of his wife was swift and decisive. Kiera was equally straightforward. Once she realized her love for Julian, both their families were pleased. When Julian expressed his desire to marry, she agreed without hesitation.
She was truly deserving of being the one to support Julian; her straightforward nature shone through.
Audrey remarked, “They are back. They won’t be spending the New Year in Yonsburg.”
“I thought the entire family stayed in Yonsburg for the New Year,” she said.
Serenity smiled and replied, “They learned that several seniors had arrived in Wiltspoon, so they hurried back right away.”
The actions of the Bucham family were closely connected to Ezequiel (Silver Fox) and his men. Occasionally, they sought assistance from Ezequiel’s disciples and had private transactions with them.
Many believed that those elderly seniors were no longer alive.
