After her repeated refusals, Evan did not press further. He told her to call if she needed anything before leaving.

Bianca watched him walk away, unsure of his thoughts.

She didn’t step outside until he was out of sight.

A message was sent to me, and I replied. Bianca then made a voice call directly. Ezequiel answered, and Bianca could hear others talking nearby, prompting her to say, “Master, you’re getting older; don’t stay up too late. Go to bed early; you have to visit Wildridge Manor tomorrow.”

Ezequiel replied, “We’re having a barbecue and drinking some wine, but we won’t overindulge or get drunk.”

Bianca replied, “I understand. I’ll keep it in check. Sometimes when I’m out in the wilderness, I catch fish, shrimp, pheasants, and rabbits, and then I roast them to eat.”

Ezequiel took a sip of his wine and sighed, “The wine Audrey collected is delightful. It’s excellent quality. Audrey, when I return, please give me a few bottles of the good stuff. I want to save them for the New Year.”
