Chapter 3438
“I’ll go outside and take a look.” Marco didn’t invite Pedro in, so he stepped outside instead. As soon as he reached the front door, he encountered Pedro, who was entering the house.
Pedro’s position as a servant in the Farrell family mansion made it impossible for Marco to stop him.
He felt he couldn’t prevent Pedro from entering.
The butler had just come inside to report, and he couldn’t block Pedro’s way.
Pedro’s future role would mirror that of Clarissa’s assistant. He was destined to be an important figure in the Farrell family, being Clarissa’s most trusted confidant and right-hand man.
Their actions represented Clarissa’s will.
To intervene would be tantamount to opposing Clarissa. Who would dare to do that?
“Mr. Fraser, what brings you here?” Marco smiled and inquired about Pedro’s visit.
Pedro didn’t respond. Instead, he walked around Marco and quickly entered the house, crossed the hall, and headed straight upstairs.
Pedro’s behavior astonished Holden and his three sons.
After a moment, they regained their composure and hurried upstairs, concerned that Pedro might confront Clarissa.
After all, Pedro was loyal to Kathryn, not Clarissa.
As soon as the father and his sons reached the second floor, they saw Pedro emerging from the study with a grim expression, carrying the unconscious Kathryn.
The four of them—father and sons—were left in shock once again.
For a moment, they were unsure of what to do.
Suddenly, they heard something crashing in the study.
Without needing to ask, they knew it was Clarissa expressing her anger.
“What happened to Kathryn?”
Coming to his senses, Holden rushed forward, asking nervously. At that moment,
He genuinely cared about Kathryn’s life and death.
Pedro remained silent, holding Kathryn in his arms, motionless, with one of her hands dangling down. Those unaware of the truth might assume she had ascended to paradise, given her lifeless appearance.
Holden reached out to touch Kathryn’s nose.
Pedro paused and coldly stated, “The young lady is not dead!”
Holden’s trembling hand still made contact with Kathryn’s nose, and he soon realized she was still breathing. A visible wave of relief washed over him, and his hands ceased to tremble.
“It’s good to be alive. It’s good to be alive. Did Kathryn have a disagreement with her mother? What could a mother and daughter possibly argue about? They are truly mother and daughter, and we are on the same side,” Holden muttered.
Pedro offered no response; he simply carried Kathryn downstairs.
Marco and his two brothers watched Pedro intently. As he passed by them with Kathryn, Marco couldn’t help but ask, “Where are you taking Kathryn, Mr. Fraser? This is her home.”
“To the hospital,” Pedro replied coldly.
Clarissa had claimed she only administered some medicine to Kathryn, which wouldn’t threaten her life. Yet, Pedro remained anxious and felt compelled to take Kathryn for a check-up.
What if Clarissa had poisoned the young lady?
No, even a tiger wouldn’t harm its own cubs.
Regardless of the circumstances, Clarissa would never harm the young lady!
Pedro continually reassured himself not to worry excessively.
