During the winter vacation, Serenity requested a day off for Sonny, visited the kindergarten to collect all of his belongings, and began the holiday a day early.
Once free from kindergarten, Sonny was like a wild horse that had broken loose from its reins. After waking up and having breakfast, he vanished without a trace. Serenity only managed to find him late into the evening, around eight or nine o’clock.
Tonight was no different; it was nine o’clock when Serenity finally located Sonny at Rosella’s and brought him back home.
“Auntie, I’m not done having fun yet! Let me play a little longer,” Sonny pleaded as Serenity pulled him away.
“Auntie needs to rest now, and you should be heading home,” Serenity replied. “I won’t have time to come pick you up later.”
As they walked, Sonny responded, “Second Grandma can take me back.”
Serenity gently reminded him, “Second Grandma is getting older. It’s dark, cold, and windy outside; you shouldn’t keep asking her to bring you here so late.”
Sonny insisted, “I can wait for my uncle to come back and ask him to pick me up. I really want to play!”
Serenity replied firmly, “No, it’s time to go home, take a shower, and rest. We can play again tomorrow.”
“Auntie, I’m on winter vacation now. When will you take me to visit Titus? I really want to go to his house; it’s so lively there with his little brothers and sisters,” Sonny said.
He longed for more than just the company of his mom.
Since Serenity’s family didn’t have any children, he could only play with the kids of the workers in his uncle’s household.
This was why Sonny enjoyed his time at the villa so much. Not only did several elderly gentlemen teach him new tricks, but he also had many friends at the foot of the mountain who played with him.
Serenity responded,
“After the old men leave, I will take you to play with Titus. If not, you can go with the genius doctor, but I won’t accompany you.”
The old doctor would also need to return to FC Manor in a few days. Serenity initially planned to take Sonny and the old doctor to FC Manor, as it would make things easier if the old doctor agreed.
However, after some thought, Sonny declined, saying, “Auntie, I want you to come with me. Don’t you miss my little sister, Avah? Didn’t you always say you wanted to hold Avah and have a little sister for me in the future?”
Serenity replied, “You mentioned that there’s only a little brother in my belly, so I can’t have a little sister.”
