Chapter 3487
Tania appeared relaxed. “I’m not concerned about them.”
Audrey replied, “You sisters-in-law don’t need to worry. The wives selected by the old lady for you all are wonderful. I should ask the old lady to help Leland find one as well.”

“Exactly,” Tania smiled. “We sisters-in-law are fortunate. Marrying into the York family is a blessing. The only challenge is being pregnant for ten months, but once the child is born, we won’t need to take care of them. My parents-in-law do a fantastic job raising the kids.”
Audrey responded, “Tania, please stop. If you continue, I’ll become so envious I’ll go crazy.”
Tania chuckled again.
“I heard that Tatum went to Annenburg in Province X to apply for a chef position. He’s already a boss, so why would he go to such lengths to become a chef?” Audrey asked with curiosity.
Tania smiled. “As I mentioned, our youngest son has a girlfriend. The old lady chose her; she’s the eldest daughter of the Ormond family in Annenburg, Province X. The old lady has great taste, but it’s unfortunate they live so far away. I’m unsure if their precious daughter would be willing to marry someone so distant, or if Tatum will move there. If Tatum relocates, I’ll have one less son.”
At this moment, Tania felt a twinge of worry. As a mother, she struggled with the thought of her children being far from her.
“Initially, you were hesitant to let Elisa marry far away. Annenburg, where the Johnson family resides, is in the same province as our Wiltspoon. Although the drive is long, you’re still within the same province, and many living habits are similar. Tatum’s girlfriend, however, is over 2,000 kilometers away from Wiltspoon. It’s
The distance is considerable, and the living conditions are quite different. Additionally, winters there are extremely cold, and I’m unsure if Tatum can adapt.
“Oh, I can’t bear the thought of my son leaving to settle so far away. I love him dearly and find it hard to accept that he might marry someone in such a distant place. I can only imagine how I would feel if I were in their position.”
Audrey felt at a loss for how to respond. Initially, she had opposed Remy and Elisa’s relationship because she believed their distance would be too challenging and could not bear the thought of Elisa marrying someone so far away.
Despite Remy owning a house in Wiltspoon and even purchasing a villa next to the Stone family, her reservations lingered. It was only after Remy’s family—his parents, brothers, and sisters-in-law—visited and expressed their support for his relationship that she felt more reassured.
Audrey held Remy in high regard and recognized the strong family values of the Johnson family. Many wealthy mothers-in-law struggle to accept their daughters-in-law’s personalities, but she felt confident that if Elisa married Remy, she wouldn’t have to worry about the usual mother-in-law and daughter-in-law conflicts.
Moreover, Remy would be based in Wiltspoon for a long period, managing the Johnson family business and only returning home during holidays.
Elisa would essentially live in Wiltspoon after their marriage, returning to her husband’s family home during holidays to visit the elders.
After much consideration, Audrey eventually agreed to their union.
Elisa didn’t require Remy to come to her family home for their marriage to proceed.
After all, Remy’s house was right next to the Stone family’s. As Elisa put it, she could easily return to her mother’s house for dinner. When the food was being prepared, she could pop over and hear her mother calling her from just over the wall.
“Don’t overthink it. Children and grandchildren will find their own paths. Let it be,” Audrey said, glancing at the time. She turned to Tania and asked, “Shall we go?”
“Shall we head down the mountain for some food and drinks?”
“Sure,” Tania replied without hesitation as she grabbed her phone to call her sisters-in-law. They all went down the mountain together and joined the elderly woman’s barbecue team.
…
Spring brought warmth, and the flowers were in full bloom.
