Chapter 3515
“How can we show favoritism towards Lucas? Sonny is our only grandson, and we cherish him immensely. In the past, we spent more time caring for Lucas and Sonny, which created a stronger bond with them and led us to inadvertently favor Lucas. I assure you, that won’t happen again,” Mrs. Brown quickly responded, aware that Hank held resentment towards them.
They had always shown preferential treatment to Chelsea, which had caused complications.
Especially last time when Chelsea’s family attempted to trick Serenity into covering an extravagant meal. When that ploy failed, Chelsea called Mrs. Brown, who unknowingly ended up paying the bill. Sonny revealed the truth.
Upon learning this, Hank was furious with his parents and warned them that if they continued to favor Chelsea, they would have to move in with her and he would cease all financial support.
Although Hank drove a sports car daily, his income had significantly decreased. He now earned only a fraction of his previous annual salary, which had exceeded a million dollars, making it impossible for them to continue providing financial support to Chelsea.
“Sonny doesn’t enjoy playing with Lucas. Let’s stop discussing the possibility of a brotherly relationship; it’s absurd. Chelsea only wants my son to assist Lucas in the future because she sees that Sonny is thriving now.
Just look at how Chelsea treated Liberty. Lucas tries to bully Sonny and snatch his toys whenever he sees him. What kind of brotherly relationship is that?”
Even though Sonny no longer allowed Lucas to bully him and had learned how to stand his ground, Hank felt increasingly angry about it and grew more dissatisfied with Lucas.
Hank lamented, “If Chelsea hadn’t consistently spoken ill of Liberty to you and stirred up trouble, maybe Liberty and I wouldn’t have divorced.”
Mrs. Brown whispered, “You divorced because you couldn’t accept Liberty’s changes after she gave birth to Sonny and ended up cheating on her. Now you blame us. If you had shown some protection for Liberty, we wouldn’t have dared to…”
“Don’t be so presumptuous,” she said. “Haven’t you heard that a husband’s attitude toward his wife sets the tone for the family’s attitude? If a husband protects his wife, her in-laws won’t dare mistreat her. But if he fails to respect or defend her, they will treat her poorly.”
Hank was left speechless.

“Now that you’re back, go to bed early. Have breakfast before heading out tomorrow, and don’t leave too early. The money you’re making now is barely a fifth of what you used to earn. I’m off to bed too,” Mrs. Brown said with a sigh as she returned to her room, closing the door behind her.
There were no further conversations that night.
The next morning, after breakfast, Serenity carried a suitcase downstairs.
The butler noticed her and quickly approached to assist, saying, “Eldest young lady, please let us help you.”
Serenity replied, “The suitcase isn’t heavy; it just has a few sets of clothes for Sonny and me.”
She preferred to handle things on her own.
Sonny was clutching a giant panda doll, still in its packaging, which he planned to give to Titus. He was also dragging a children’s suitcase filled with toys he often played with and some items intended for Titus.
As the butler helped Serenity with her suitcase, Sonny watched with anticipation.
The butler smiled and took the small suitcase from Sonny’s grasp.
“Sonny,” called Grandma May and Tania, waving at him.
Sonny ran over, hugging the giant panda doll tightly.
Grandma May embraced Sonny, then released him and reminded him, “Listen to your aunt when you visit the Johnson family, and make sure to take good care of her.”
