Sonny puffed out his chest like a little adult and declared, “Grandma, I will take great care of my aunt and won’t let her get tired.”

Serenity smiled but said nothing in response.

Tania hugged Sonny tightly, reluctantly letting him go as she said, “Just go and play for a few days. Don’t stay too long; we’ll all miss you.”

Sonny replied, “My aunt and I will be back for the New Year. Uncle Zack said he would pick us up when he returns from his business trip.”

Tania smiled and said, “Then we won’t see you for more than ten days.”

She pulled Sonny close again, embraced him, and kissed him on the cheek. “Have fun, and be sure to tell Grandma about the games you played with Titus, where you went, and what delicious food you ate. Bring us some specialties from Annenburg when you return.”

If she weren’t concerned about Serenity discovering the situation in Jensburg that everyone was hiding from her, Tania would have been even more reluctant to let Sonny go to FC Manor so soon.

Typically, Sonny attended kindergarten and might not visit on weekends. When he did come over, it was usually for just a day or two. Everyone missed him dearly.

Now that winter vacation had finally arrived, Sonny was eager to see his friends again.

“Seren, while you’re out, have fun and don’t worry about home,” Tania advised her daughter-in-law.

Grandma May chimed in, “That’s right. While your belly isn’t too big and it doesn’t hinder your movements, enjoy yourself. Once you’re heavily pregnant, even if you want to go out, you might hesitate. After giving birth, you’ll need to stay in confinement, and afterward, you won’t want to leave your child behind. Mothers naturally worry about their children.”

If you wish to do whatever you want, you should retire and not have to care for grandchildren. Then, you can be free to go wherever you please.

Grandma May chuckled. “I fear you two may not want to leave the child then.”
