Chapter 3519
Tania smiled, “That’s right, Mom. You’re getting older, so please don’t run around and make the younger generation worry.”
The elderly woman pretended to glare at Tania. “Why are you joining in on the teasing? I’m not running around. I’m staying home now. I didn’t follow Seren to Johnson’s house to hug Avah.”
Tania directly pointed out her mother-in-law’s falsehood. “Mom, didn’t you always try to ‘borrow’ their children whenever you visited, only to be turned down by the Johnson family?”
The old lady’s face turned red.
Camryn couldn’t help but laugh, her laughter ringing like a silver bell.
Grandma May said, “Camryn, come with me for a walk to clear my mind. I’m in a bad mood because of your aunt.”
Tania chuckled. “Mom, you didn’t have a daughter yourself, and now you’re blaming me. It’s not that we don’t want to give you a granddaughter; it’s a problem with the York family’s fortune-teller. I seriously suspect our house and ancestral graves are on a monk’s land.”
They only had sons.
If they had a daughter, they wouldn’t be able to support her.
“The master said it’s not a fortune-teller issue,” the old lady murmured.
Unable to counter Tania’s argument, she pulled Camryn out of the house.
Once outside, the old lady gazed up at the gray sky. “Today isn’t a good day. The sky isn’t blue, and the clouds aren’t white.”
Camryn replied, “The weather forecast said it might drizzle today, possibly starting this afternoon, and the temperature will drop again.”
Grandma May sighed. “No matter how much it rains, it won’t snow. I really want to see snow. Camryn, how about we take a plane to the icy north and have some fun?”
Camryn replied, “Grandma, you may not be afraid of getting scolded, but I am. Your son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren will surely scold me to death.”
The icy, snowy landscape was far too cold. Even young people like her would hesitate to venture out due to the frigid temperatures.
If they went out, they would undoubtedly catch a cold upon returning to Wiltspoon.
“What are you afraid of? I’m your grandma. I’ll take the blame. If they scold you, I’ll scold them right back.” The elderly woman grasped Camryn’s hand like she was a child. “Come on, Camryn, join me in enjoying the snow. Just imagine building snowmen, engaging in snowball fights, and playing in the snow. It will make you feel decades younger. It’s the best way to rejuvenate.”
Camryn continued to walk away, refusing. “Grandma, you should ask someone else. I can’t go.”
If they allowed the old lady to go alone, she might not return until March of the following year. Regardless of how healthy she was, she was still old. They couldn’t let her wander off unless she secretly “ran away from home.”
“Coward! Why have you become so timid?” the old lady teased.
Camryn calmly replied, “Why shouldn’t I be timid? I have my husband supporting me now. I’m not alone anymore. I don’t have to face everything by myself. Why can’t I be a little weaker and more cautious?”
The old lady chuckled. “Showing off your love in front of your grandma.”
“Do you have something to discuss with Serenity? Your grandma has sharp eyes and can see through people,” she said with a smile.
Camryn confessed, “Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to her about whether Mrs. Labbe and my sister are the same person.”
“Are they the same person?” the old lady asked, feigning interest.
In reality, such trivial matters didn’t truly captivate her.
