Callum quickly replied, “No, no, grandma, please think about the embarrassing moments of my oldest brother or my younger brothers instead. Let’s not focus on mine anymore.”
Callum felt helpless when it came to grandma. Despite her age, her memory remained remarkably sharp. She claimed to still remember events from over 20 years ago.
With a smile, the old lady said, “Your oldest brother and younger brothers didn’t trouble me as much, so why should I think about their embarrassing moments? Your oldest brother had the fewest embarrassing experiences; he was a good boy from childhood and has always been outstanding. Your grandfather and I are very proud of him.”
Callum interjected, “Grandma, I want to say sweet things to my wife.”
The old lady replied, “I didn’t take the phone from you, and I won’t interrupt your sweet talk. Just remember not to shout; grandma, being old and somewhat hard of hearing, might not catch it.”
Callum thought it was odd. Just moments ago, when he asked his wife a question, he hadn’t spoken loudly, yet grandma still heard him.
