When Tim first became a father, he would pick up the baby as soon as he cried. Because he was accustomed to holding Fabian, the child would easily wake up and cry whenever he was away from the comfort of an adult’s arms.
“And your grandpa spoils you too, even more than anyone else,” Lilian added, smiling at Fabian.
Seeing his smile melted Lilian’s heart, prompting her to kiss his soft little face. She couldn’t resist playfully biting it again.
Though she thought her bite was gentle, Fabian quickly pursed his lips and burst into tears.
Lilian reassured him, “Son, Mom just nibbled you lightly. Who told you your skin is so smooth and tender? I couldn’t help myself! I didn’t bite hard, yet you still screamed! Knowing that Grandpa is coming, are you ready to complain?”
After muttering to herself, Lilian hurried to calm Fabian down.
She used her hands to gently wipe his face, where the bite had left some red marks. She worried that if the master saw, he might scold her.
Fabian continued to cry, finding it hard to be comforted. He truly felt his mother had bitten him, and the tears kept coming.
Lilian, unsure how to soothe a baby, eventually gave up and rushed to the main house with Fabian in her arms.
The servants were not surprised by this scene; in their eyes, Lilian struggled the most with taking care of a baby.
Although Fabian was already four or five months old, Lilian still found it challenging to care for him. Whenever she attempted to tend to him, he would cry non-stop.
