Chapter 3577
When Jane first welcomed Titus into her home, he was just a baby and unable to speak. He likely had been cared for by a nanny and didn’t retain strong memories of his biological parents. After spending a few years with Jane, he even forgot the nanny he had once been close to. Now, he has formed a strong attachment to the Johnson family.
At such a young age, children naturally bond with those who care for them.
“Aunt Seren, is Sonny really okay?” Titus asked, concern evident in his voice as he looked at his sleeping friend. He placed his hand on Sonny’s forehead, then on his own, to compare their temperatures.
Serenity assured him, “Sonny is perfectly fine.”
After a moment of thought, Titus suggested, “If Sonny gets sick, I’ll check his pulse and get him some medicine.”
Serenity replied, “Have you learned how to check pulses and prescribe medicine?”

Titus admitted, “Not yet, but I’ve seen my master and his grandfather do it. When I first arrived at Medicine Valley, I had a cold, so I know which medicine I took. My master’s grandfather has it, and I can get it for Sonny.”
While Titus was eager to learn about medicine, at just three or four years old, he was still too young to fully grasp its complexities. He had only observed his master and grandfather, believing he could replicate their actions.
Concerned that Titus might actually attempt to get medicine, Serenity quickly said, “Titus, everyone’s illness is different. The medicine you took might not be suitable for Sonny and could even be harmful. Medicines can be dangerous if not used correctly. If you’re worried, we can prepare some ginger soup for Sonny in the morning to help prevent any colds.”
Titus nodded, understanding that ginger soup could be beneficial, and seemed reassured. Serenity gently patted his head and said, “It’s still…
“Go back to sleep,” she said gently.
“Okay,” Titus replied, quickly drifting back to sleep under Serenity’s watchful gaze.
Once she was certain Titus was asleep, Serenity quietly left the children’s room, being careful not to disturb him. She envied how easily children could fall back asleep, unlike adults who often found it difficult.
Instead of returning to her own room, Serenity made her way downstairs.
The Johnson family’s butler was already awake. Upon seeing her, he greeted her warmly and asked if she was hungry, mentioning that the chef was already preparing breakfast.
“It’s common for pregnant women to feel hungry quickly,” the butler remarked with a smile. “Our eldest lady experienced the same thing.”
The chef began working early, around five in the morning, to prepare breakfast for everyone. The household staff would submit their breakfast preferences the day before; if they didn’t, they would eat whatever the chef decided to make.
Others in the household typically started their work around six in the morning, depending on their specific roles.
