Chapter 3579
– Enzo and Avah frequently start fighting over toys within just a few minutes. Enzo always ends up losing to Avah, which leads him to cry and draw the attention of the adults.
Sometimes, when Enzo can’t secure a win, he throws himself at Avah. Although they can both sit up, they are still a bit unsteady. Enzo’s tactic usually works—he knocks Avah down and then bites her.
Despite both lacking teeth, they still manage to bite each other. Whether it hurts is known only to them, but regardless of the situation, it typically concludes with Enzo in tears.
When Avah wakes up and sees her mother nearby, she wants to follow her. Avah is clever and rarely cries, but she knows how to imitate her brother’s wail to get attention. When she does, her mother gently picks her up. It seems that the child who cries does indeed get the milk.
Upon seeing Serenity, Avah opened her arms to be held. Noticing that Jane didn’t mind, Serenity leaned over and picked Avah up.
Serenity was aware that it is often advised against for pregnant women to hold other people’s children, but since Jane was okay with it, she didn’t worry.

Jane was not concerned about superstitions. As long as her children were comfortable with the person holding them, she was fine with it.
“Avah woke up early,” Serenity remarked while holding her and walking alongside Jane.
Jane responded, “She typically wakes up at dawn, plays for a bit, eats, and then goes back to sleep until noon.”
Serenity kissed Avah’s cheek and suggested, “She’s probably hungry. Give her some milk powder, and she’ll likely doze off again.”
Avah rested her head on Serenity’s shoulder and wrapped her arms around her neck. This sweet gesture warmed Serenity’s heart. She smiled at Jane and said, “No wonder my grandma wants to take Avah home—she’s…
“Too adorable to resist,” Jane remarked with a chuckle. “Grandma York probably feels a bit awkward about visiting frequently because we watch her so closely when she’s here. She jokes that we guard her like she’s a thief. During her last visit, she told my grandma that one day she would have a great-granddaughter and would bring her over too. She insisted that my grandma wouldn’t be the only one with a great-granddaughter.”
Serenity laughed, “Those two old ladies are like playful children.”
“Grandma adores girls. She treats us granddaughters-in-law as if we were her own granddaughters.”
Before Serenity married Zachary, she had always liked the old lady, and the sentiment was mutual; otherwise, Zachary wouldn’t have been pressured into marrying her.
“Seren, are you worried?” Jane asked, her concern evident. “Did you not sleep well? You just arrived yesterday, and you’re up so early today.”
Jane was worried that Serenity wasn’t adjusting well. When she spotted Serenity walking in the yard, she hurried out, leaving her still-sleeping husband and son behind.
When Ben and Enzo woke up, Enzo would start crying if he didn’t see his mother, waking the entire household.
