Chapter 3580
– There was no need for an alarm clock; Enzo’s daily cries always brought everyone back from their tasks.
During the day, the nanny and an elderly woman took care of Enzo while Jane and Ben worked. They could only spend time with him in the mornings and evenings.
However, every day when Enzo woke up and didn’t see his mother, he would cry for a long time until someone calmed him down.
Ben often joked that Enzo was trying to steal Jane away from him, which made her both laugh and cry. Jane never complained about Ben treating Avah like a princess. If Ben teased that Enzo was stealing Jane, then Avah must be trying to steal Ben too. When Ben held Avah, he became a doting father, completely focused on her.
“It’s not the bed,” Serenity replied. “I had a dream and couldn’t fall back asleep, so I went for a walk. The air is so fresh in the early morning, especially after last night’s rain.”
“Let’s sit in the pavilion,” Jane suggested, reaching out to take Avah back to give Serenity a break.
Once they sat in the pavilion, Avah nestled into Jane’s arms and dozed off, gripping Jane’s clothes tightly as if she didn’t want to be put back to bed.
Avah felt safe and comfortable in Jane’s embrace, soothed by the familiar rhythm of her heartbeat.
Serenity said, “I dreamt of my parents and two strangers. The dream made me feel like those strangers were my grandparents. I think my mother might have found my grandmother.”
Jane nodded, “That sounds possible. They’re mother and daughter—they’re bound to reconnect.”
However, Serenity was more concerned about the situation in Jensburg. She had been overthinking, which led to her dream.
Serenity’s parents died in a car accident when she was ten. If it weren’t for some old photos, her memories of them would be even fainter.

“Seren, don’t worry too much,” Jane reassured her. “I’m confident everything will work out, just like it did with my mother’s family. Things were tense for a while, but it all ended well. We must trust our families. If they don’t want us involved, it means they believe they can handle everything on their own.”
Avah fell asleep in Jane’s arms. Jane adjusted her hold to make Avah more comfortable, tucking in her clothes to keep her warm.
Serenity watched Jane’s gentle care and instinctively placed a hand on her slightly swollen belly. Her baby was still asleep, quiet within her.
After breakfast, the baby would be more active, and she’d feel the little movements. The baby typically moved the most between 7 and 9 pm. When she or Zachary interacted with the baby, it would play happily for a while before settling down around 10 pm.
After observing this routine, the couple decided to interact with the baby only between 7 and 8 pm to allow it to calm down afterward.
“I know I have to trust them,” Serenity said. “But it’s hard not to worry at all. I understand that if I go there, I won’t be much help and would only distract them. That would just hinder their efforts. Since they’ve chosen to keep this from me, I’m pretending not to know. But how can I help but worry? All the people in Jensburg are my closest family and friends.”
