Chapter 3625
– Clarissa and Mr. Dunn returned to the company in the evening.
Most employees at Farrell Group were still working overtime.
Many individuals deliberately slowed their pace, hoping to stay late to see if Audrey and Mr. Dunn would return. If they did, it would suggest that the hidden gun incident was a setup and not genuine. Alternatively, it might indicate that the police had failed to locate the gun.
Marco and his two brothers were the most anxious among the staff. However, they felt powerless until the secretary informed them of Clarissa and Mr. Dunn’s arrival.
The three brothers exchanged glances and let out a sigh of relief.
Noel remarked, “I knew this had to be a setup. I’ve been my mother’s son for decades and have never seen a gun, other than the toy and water guns she bought me.”
Marco and Sage chuckled in response.
Marco also had never witnessed Clarissa or Mr. Dunn conceal any firearms.
The three brothers hurried downstairs to greet Clarissa.
Clarissa entered the office building with Mr. Dunn, flanked by bodyguards, as if nothing had occurred.
Upon seeing her sons, she paused and said, “If everything is fine, you should go home after work. I haven’t had dinner yet, so I’ll be going with Mr. Dunn. I returned to ease your worries.”
She continued, “This was Audrey’s doing. The police thoroughly searched Mr. Dunn’s house but found nothing.”
Clarissa scoffed, “Now it’s Audrey’s turn to feel uneasy.”
Since the hidden gun was not discovered, it would be interesting to see how Audrey copes with this situation.
Marco responded, “Mom, it’s great that we’ve resolved this. You and Mr. Dunn should enjoy your dinner. We’ll take care of the company matters.”
Clarissa nodded and instructed her sons to manage a few documents for her. Then
She left the company with Mr. Dunn, flanked by bodyguards.
Meanwhile, at the Queen family home, Hayden received a call and informed Kevin, “Let Brother Zack and the others know that the police didn’t find any guns at Dunn’s place.”
Lilian, who was sitting next to Hayden, remarked, “Mr. Dakota is out.”
Dakota was Sariyah’s master, a notorious thief from decades past.
Sariyah commented, “My master left without telling me.”
She could speculate on the reasons why.
Lilian suggested, “You should go too. It’s late, dark, and the perfect time to check out Dunn’s house. Before you head out, ask Young Master Zack’s bodyguard, Jim, for assistance. He’s familiar with Jensburg and the layout of Dunn’s house since he’s visited at night. He can draw you a map to help locate where they might be hiding the guns. They wouldn’t move them off the Dunn family property.”
“It’s challenging to locate those hidden guns without insider help. You’ll need Miss Kathryn’s support. However, Kathryn is Clarissa’s daughter. Although she has betrayed her mother before, I’m not sure she would go against her for justice when it concerns her mother’s life.”
Sariyah said, “Given their mother-daughter relationship, we can’t rely on her to side with us. Aunt Audrey mentioned we would know by tomorrow if Clarissa plans to invite us all to the Farrell family mansion.”
