Chapter 3644
– As Kathryn sat in the car, her neck still throbbed, but she found it easier to drift off to sleep, perhaps because of the comfort she felt in Pedro’s presence.
With Pedro by her side, she felt safe, regardless of the obstacles they faced.
Liberty often remarked on the depth of Pedro’s love for Kathryn, and she had begun to feel similarly about him.
Liberty had advised her not to overlook Pedro’s feelings and to consider his role as a father rather than solely focusing on her desire for a child, to avoid causing him pain.
No matter what transpired between Kathryn and Liberty, the guidance was intended to help her navigate love.
Kathryn had come to the realization that she loved Pedro; it was hard not to fall for someone as extraordinary as him.
When Pedro noticed that Kathryn had fallen asleep, he pulled over, took off his coat, and gently draped it over her. Despite the car’s heater running, the temperature was low enough that she could catch a chill while resting.
He watched her for a moment, leaned over to place a soft kiss on her cheek, then sat back up and resumed driving, heading back to his place with Kathryn.
Meanwhile, Liberty and others received news from Silver Fox that Clarissa had knocked Kathryn unconscious and taken her away.
“I can’t believe Clarissa, who claims to care so much for her only daughter, actually devised an escape plan for her,” Audrey said sarcastically.
Mrs. Queen responded, “No matter how ruthless Clarissa may be, she is still a mother. The Farrell family has always placed greater value on daughters than sons.
She cherished Shiloh, even though she wasn’t her biological child. Kathryn is her true daughter, and with Shiloh gone, it’s no surprise she ensured Kathryn had a means to escape.” Audrey nodded in agreement.
“That’s true; it’s simply human nature.” If anything were to happen to the Stone family, she would also do everything in her power to protect her children. Audrey then turned to
Liberty. “Liberty, return to the company now and plan to visit the Farrell Group later. Mention that you want to see Kathryn and observe the Farrell family’s reaction. They probably have a double prepared for her.” Liberty replied, “They’ll likely either show me the double or refuse to meet me. But yes, Aunt, I’m heading back to the company now.”
Liberty returned to work, acting as if everything was normal while anticipating the Farrell family dinner later that evening.
On her way back to the office, Liberty received a video call from Serenity. Since she had a bodyguard driving, she was able to take the call without any distractions.
When the call connected, she saw Sonny’s little face. Despite the turmoil in Jensburg, it was still early, and Sonny was having breakfast.
He was happily munching on a bun shaped like an animal, one of Titus’s favorites. Whenever Titus returned to FC Manor, the pastry chef would make these animal-shaped buns that the children adored.
“Mom,” Sonny sweetly called when he saw Liberty, waving with his free hand. Before she could respond, he added, “Mom, the buns at Titus’s house are delicious and cute. They’re shaped like little rabbits. I’m eating one now.” Liberty smiled.
“Then have a couple more, sweetheart. Make sure you’re full. Eat by yourself; don’t let your aunt feed you. When I return, I’ll make some buns for you too.”
Liberty once ran her own breakfast shop, where she baked buns, although she hadn’t made them in animal shapes before. Now, she thought it wouldn’t be too difficult to create some bunny-shaped buns for Sonny.
