Chapter 3646
Titus was rarely allowed to go out because he couldn’t help with luggage, and the family preferred not to take him along. They believed that once he grew up, he would be able to travel on his own. Liberty reflected on Titus’s background.
The Johnson family was protective due to Titus’s past; the people who had killed his family were still searching for him, intent on erasing any trace of his lineage. They suspected that the child Jane adopted might be the target, but they couldn’t confirm it.
The Johnson family’s strong influence in Annenburg made these pursuers hesitate to act, and they had no new information about Titus from FC Manor. They believed the Johnsons might have hidden him but were unaware of his location.
Liberty reassured Titus, saying, “When summer vacation comes next year, it will be longer. I’ll bring Sonny to your place so he can spend the summer with you.” She smiled as she spoke. Titus, excited, replied, “Auntie Hunt, you have to keep your promise. Make sure Sonny comes to play with me next summer.” Although the two boys occasionally disagreed, they generally got along well and had a great time together.
While other children were at FC Manor, they were still too young to play with Titus, so he eagerly anticipated spending time with Sonny. “Of course,” Liberty promised. By next summer, Serenity would have given birth, which might make it inconvenient to take Sonny to the Johnson family.
Liberty thought she might be very busy by then, so she planned to personally take Sonny to FC Manor. She felt a bit embarrassed, as it seemed like she was asking the Johnson family to care for her son. To express her gratitude, she decided to prepare a generous gift to send with Sonny during the summer.
Titus then said, “Auntie Hunt, I’m going to finish my breakfast now. You can talk to Sonny.” He wanted to…
Liberty had a video chat with Sonny during breakfast today. Last night, he waited to call her, but it was very late by the time he finally got the chance. Suddenly, Liberty felt a wave of guilt.
She had been so busy that she hadn’t spent much time with Sonny, relying on Serenity to look after him. Sonny was so considerate, staying up late just to talk with her, but she hadn’t made time for him. The guilt hit her hard.
“Mom, I had a video call with Uncle last night. Auntie said you were very busy, so she told me to call you today instead, so I wouldn’t have to stay up late,” Sonny explained.
“Mom, you need to eat well, sleep well, and take care of yourself,” he added. Liberty responded softly, “Thank you, Sonny. I will make sure to rest. You can call me anytime you miss me.”
“Mom, I know you’re busy with work, making money to support me and pay for my school. I need to be understanding and not disturb you too much. But when you’re free, please call Auntie, so I know you have time,” Sonny said, concerned that calling her might interfere with her work.
He understood how hard his mom worked to provide for him and didn’t want to be a burden. Liberty smiled at him. “Sonny, you’re so thoughtful. I’ll try to come back as soon as possible.”
“Okay, Mom. Just let me know when you’re back, and Auntie and I will come home. But Auntie said we have to wait for Uncle to pick us up, and he said he’ll come get us after his business trip to celebrate the New Year,” Sonny replied.
He was excited about Zachary’s return but wasn’t in a hurry. He was still enjoying his time. He and Titus didn’t get to see each other often, only during winter and summer breaks. Titus had a lot on his plate.
His master had given him winter break homework, which included copying his medicine book at night. Sonny thought that compared to his own homework, Titus had it much tougher.
