Chapter 3652
19:17. Chapter 3652
Tatum approached with Alonzo and Angelo by his side. Elora looked at him and said calmly, “My two brothers really like you. You seem to be great with kids.”
Tatum replied, “I have a large family with many brothers. My youngest cousin is still in high school and won’t graduate until next June. Since I’m much older than him, I often take care of him when I’m home. I enjoy being around kids.
My sister-in-law’s nephew, Sonny, also visits frequently. He’s adorable, well-behaved, and incredibly sweet. We all adore him. I’ve spent a lot of time with kids, so I know how to make them happy.”
Surprised, Elora asked, “You often help your sister-in-law with her nephew?”
Although Tatum worked as her private chef, Elora was aware that he managed his own business in Wiltspoon. She hadn’t anticipated that he would have time for babysitting, especially since Sonny wasn’t even his nephew—he was his sister-in-law’s nephew.
Tatum replied, “Not all the time. My family is quite large, and whenever Sonny comes over, the older relatives love to care for him. I just play with him. I’ve mentioned before that I have many brothers. Even though my father and his brothers don’t live together, they live nearby, so we often gather for meals. It’s always lively, much like your family.”
Elora recognized that her family had a similar dynamic. The eldest household was respected, and the other families provided support. When significant decisions were made, the eldest family took the lead, and there was no arguing or fighting among uncles and nephews. It was a harmonious family structure, much like Tatum’s.
It was evident that Elora had a skillful approach to managing her family.
At this moment, both Elora and Tinsley…
the Ormond family was under Elora’s leadership as the eldest sister, with Tinsley often following her guidance.
Elora remarked, “Your family sounds wonderful.”
Tatum, hailing from a good family, was indeed a remarkable man due to his talents.
“Miss, it’s quite windy outside. Shall we continue inside?” Joly suggested politely.
Elora signaled for her brothers to join her, took their hands, and led them indoors. Tatum assisted the bodyguard in bringing Elora’s luggage into the house and then quickly proceeded to the kitchen.
“Welcome home, Elora!” Mrs. Ormond exclaimed with a smile as she approached.
“Mom,” Elora greeted her. Noticing her father was absent, she asked, “Is Dad not home?”
“He’s at your second uncle’s house playing chess. He didn’t know you were returning today,” Mrs. Ormond replied.
Elora sometimes informed her family about her business trips, but other times she kept it to herself. This occasion was one of those surprises for her brothers.
“I’ll go call your dad to come home,” Mrs. Ormond offered as she prepared to leave.
“Mom, it’s fine. I’m not a guest. Dad will return when it’s time for dinner,” Elora said, preventing her mother from interrupting the game.
“Mom, weren’t you planning to go out?”
Elora settled onto the sofa, waiting for her mother to join her before sitting down.
Mrs. Ormond sighed, “No, I didn’t go out. I don’t even know what to do when I do anymore.”
“I don’t go out anymore; it’s just shopping, beauty treatments, or playing cards. It becomes monotonous.” After marrying into the Ormond family, her primary role had been to expand the family. She felt sorry for her husband’s family because she only had daughters. Fortunately, her eldest daughter, Elora, was competent and could support the family. In fact, Elora was even more successful than the previous generation of her father’s side.
