Chapter 3843
“First, get the marriage certificate. After that, you can take your time selecting the perfect wedding date,” Liberty suggested with a warm smile. “When you two finally tie the knot, be sure to invite us,” she added, reiterating her hopes for Kathryn.
Kathryn returned Liberty’s smile. “We’ll discuss that when the time comes. It’s still a bit early for that,” she replied.
Kathryn appreciated Liberty’s genuine support and understood that Liberty wanted Pedro to see that she had people who cared for her. Although Pedro would never treat her poorly, Kathryn felt touched by Liberty’s kindness.
If it hadn’t been for her mother’s mistakes, Kathryn and Liberty might have become close friends. What a pity. Kathryn sighed quietly.
After chatting a little longer, Kathryn stood up. “Liberty, I know you’re busy, so I won’t take up more of your time. I’ll head out now. See you next year.”
Liberty stood to accompany her to the door. Kathryn and Pedro headed to the elevator, with Duncan following behind in his wheelchair.
“Mr. Fraser, please take good care of Kathryn. She’s a wonderful woman,” Liberty said, unable to resist offering some advice.
Even though she was confident in Pedro’s unwavering devotion to Kathryn, Liberty spoke with the tone of an older sister offering guidance.
Pedro’s voice was deep and resolute. “Don’t worry, Miss Hunt. I’m devoted to her for life. I’ll love and care for her as long as I live—and even beyond that.”
Pedro admired Kathryn deeply and felt grateful for the bond they shared. Life had blessed him with more than just being her assistant; he had her love.
and trust. Historically, assistants to powerful families often lived closely alongside their employers. But how many could genuinely guard their hearts? Most developed feelings for those they served, yet rarely expressed them. Only if those feelings were reciprocated could their relationship transcend mere loyalty; otherwise, they spent their lives in silent devotion, much like Mr. Dunn, who fulfilled his duties alone until the end.
Liberty nodded. “I hope you mean what you say.”
“Liberty, we’re off,” Kathryn said, waving as she stepped into the elevator, with Pedro following closely behind.
Liberty stood by as the elevator doors closed, watching them disappear from view. She lingered for a moment before returning to her office.
Duncan was waiting at the doorway, having not followed them to the elevator.
“They’re gone?” Duncan asked gently.
“Yes,” Liberty replied, as she pushed his wheelchair back into the office. “We’re almost ready to head back to Wiltspoon. Kathryn came to say goodbye; she’s preparing to leave Jensburg. If it weren’t for past conflicts, I would genuinely like her as a cousin.”
Duncan nodded. “It’s good that things have reached this point. She’s exceptional, balancing her personal and professional life with strength.”
She is exceptionally balanced in her personal and professional life, possessing a strong mindset. There’s no need to worry about her. Even before returning to the Farrell family, she had already founded her own company and achieved success as an entrepreneur.
Since reuniting with her family, she has kept her private ventures discreet but continues to expand them. Her company has now become significant. Setting aside her status as the young heir of the Farrells, her own efforts have nearly made her a hundred-millionaire—an impressive accomplishment.
The current economic climate is challenging, and starting a business is no easy task, with many entrepreneurs losing everything. However, Kathryn has demonstrated her capability by building and leading a successful company through tough times.
