Chapter 104

“Crap!”

They were coming, and he wasn’t sure how many there would be. He needed to get Judy out of there, and fast! He turned and headed back down the basement, moving quickly.

Ethan walked over to the cage where Judy was wiggling on the ground. Her body was warm from being in heat, and her scent was calling to his wolf.

Quickly, he shifted back into his human form before his wolf could do anything reckless. He realized he was completely naked.

Nudity wasn’t a big deal among shifters. Just as he was about to pick up Judy, he heard someone moaning in pain.

His eyes darted up, and to his shock and horror, he saw Irene lying in the cage too. His heart raced as he realized the situation was worse than he thought.

His arms fell to his sides, and his heart sank.

“Irene?” he called as he walked toward her.

He knelt down beside her and gently touched the side of her neck, searching for a pulse. He felt it beating quickly, which was a relief. Though she was unconscious, her heart was still strong.

Irene was drugged with wolfsbane.

“Shit, shit, shit!” he cursed as he looked between Irene and Judy.

He realized he could only take one of them to safety right now. He needed to act fast before the rogues arrived. Unfortunately, he couldn’t save both of them.

He wanted both Irene and Judy in his life, but he knew he could only choose one. Irene was the person he needed for his future, while Judy was the one he desired to be with intimately. After thinking it over for a moment, he made his decision. He gently lifted Irene off the ground.

Ethan held Judy close to his chest as he hurried out of the cage.

“Ethan…” she whispered softly from behind him. He stopped for a moment and turned to look at her.

Her eyes were half open, showing the exhaustion she felt.

She was looking at him, her lips slightly parted as she breathed. He felt a strong urge to kiss her and make her his once again. But he knew he had to focus on getting Irene out of there first. If he could save Irene’s life, then Gavin would…

“Be grateful,” he said, “and make him the Alpha for sure.”

“I’ll come back for you,” he told Judy.

With that, he turned and hurried up the stairs. He needed to get Irene far away from there.

He would return for Judy. Hopefully, by then, it wouldn’t be too late. However, he knew he couldn’t carry both of them out of there and get them to safety without the rogues chasing after them. It was going to be a tough situation, especially when…

Suddenly, a much larger wolf appeared among the Gammas. This imposing wolf moved quickly, blending in with the others.

Ethan stood still, feeling the presence of someone powerful nearby. The man towered over everyone else and had a strong, commanding presence. Ethan instantly recognized him.

It was Alpha Gavin Landry.

**Chapter 0104**

**Gavin’s POV**

“Alpha, we found the house,” one of my Gammas communicated through our mental link.

We had been searching all night for the rogue’s house. Once we figured out where the license plate was from, we spent the entire night looking for that location.

My Gammas all recognized Irene’s scent. As soon as we picked it up, we knew we were getting closer.

They followed the trail and found her house after searching for 10 hours. A few of my friends were in cars, ready to help if we needed to transport anyone. The rest of us were out in our fur coats.

I ran through the forest until I found my Gammas. There, I saw a shabby old shack that looked like a house. Irene’s scent was strong in the air, which told me they were close. I was sure she had to be inside or at least nearby.
