He then switched the camera to show Zhong Tianyu, who was kneeling on the ground.

Gu Qiuyi was genuinely surprised to see him. She quickly said, “Zhong Tianyu, since you’re here, I’ll be straightforward. This concert in Jinling is specially for Brother Charlie Wade, and it happens to be on his birthday. I can’t have any mistakes in this show, so I can’t allow you to perform. Zhong Tianyu felt crushed and thought, “So in Gu Qiuyi’s eyes, I’m just a flaw!”

He couldn’t help but ask, “Why… why is that?”

Gu Qiuyi answered clearly, “Because Charlie Wade is my fiancé, and this is my first performance in front of him on his birthday, in his city. It means a lot to me, so I can’t let you take the stage.”

She then added apologetically, “However, for concerts in other cities, I will still keep my promise and won’t stop you from performing.”

Zhong Tianyu realized he had made a big mistake. Gu Qiuyi had chosen her fiancé long ago and was willing to travel far to perform for him. Meanwhile, he had foolishly pursued her and ended up offending her fiancé.

“This… is this some kind of joke?!” Zhong Tianyu shouted, clearly upset. “If you didn’t want me to join, why didn’t you say so earlier? If I had known, would I have come all the way to Jinling? If I hadn’t come here, would I have gone through all this trouble? You’ve ruined me!”

Charlie Wade quickly interrupted him. “Who allowed you to talk to Gu Qiuyi like that? You have one chance to apologize. If I hear one more disrespectful word, you’ll be looking at three to four years of consequences!”

Zhong Tianyu immediately felt the weight of Charlie’s words. He swallowed his anger and replied, “Qiuyi… I was too impulsive just now. I didn’t mean anything by it. I’m sorry!”

Gu Qiuyi looked at him seriously. “I’m sorry, Zhong Tianyu, but I actually rejected you a while ago. You’ve pulled so many strings to try and win me over, and it made it hard for me to say no. So, I reluctantly agreed for a while. But when the concert starts, I plan to tell everyone that you can’t be there due to a sudden issue, and I’ll have security stop you from getting on stage. I’m really sorry.”

In that moment, Zhong Tianyu realized the truth. He had thought he had a chance to win Gu Qiuyi’s heart, but he was just fooling himself. He felt like a love-struck fool chasing after someone who didn’t feel the same.

Feeling defeated, Zhong Tianyu broke down and cried on the ground. Charlie Wade switched the topic, trying to lighten the mood.

Charlie turned to Gu Qiuyi and said, “Don’t worry, this product won’t show up at any of your concerts.”

Gu Qiuyi nodded and replied, “Brother Charlie, please don’t make him feel too embarrassed. This really isn’t right for me.”

Charlie waved his hand dismissively. “What you did wasn’t wrong. He’s been acting inappropriately, following you around. What you just said was just a plan; you never put it into action. You shouldn’t feel guilty about him at all!”
