Ye Changmin was far away in Yanjing, quietly listening to the conversation on the phone. The more he listened, the more he felt sorry for Zhong Tianyu. He couldn’t understand why Zhong Tianyu was having such a hard time. All he did was try to pursue Gu Qiuyi, yet it ended badly for him.
It would have been one thing if Gu Qiuyi had just rejected him, but now she had also offended Charlie Wade, making the situation even worse. Just then, Ye Changmin’s phone rang. It was Zhong Zhengtao calling. Feeling a bit desperate, he ended the call with Zhong Tianyu and picked up the call from Zhong Zhengtao.
As soon as he answered, Zhong Zhengtao asked impatiently, “Chang Min, what’s going on? Is Tianyu kidnapped by your Ye family?”
Ye Changmin replied, “Zheng Tao, Tianyu just called me. He’s indeed at Buckingham Palace.”
Zhong Zhengtao pressed for details, “What happened? Did one of your family’s servants kidnap him?”
Ye Changmin coughed awkwardly and said, “Um, it wasn’t a servant. It was my nephew.”
“Your nephew?!” Zhong Zhengtao exclaimed in confusion. “How did Tianyu get into a conflict with your nephew? Is it Ye Feng or Ye Hao?”
“Neither,” Ye Changmin whispered. “It’s Charlie Wade!”
“Charlie Wade?!” Zhong Zhengtao was even more baffled. He exclaimed, “I didn’t know you had a nephew named Charlie Wade! I’ve never heard of him!”
“Have you heard about it?” Ye Changmin sighed and said, “Charlie Wade is my second brother Ye Changying’s son.”
Zhong Zhengtao’s eyes widened in surprise. “Ye Changying’s son? Isn’t he missing for a long time?!”
Ye Changmin nodded, “I never mentioned it before. Charlie just found out about his family recently. There’s a lot you don’t know, and it’s a long story.”
Zhong Zhengtao replied anxiously, “I don’t care about your family secrets. I just want to know why Charlie Wade kidnapped my son! Did my son have a problem with him?”
Ye Changmin explained, “From what I understand, they argued over the phone. My nephew happened to be in Jinling, so when Tianyu got off the plane, Charlie’s people took him away.”
Zhong Zhengtao looked frustrated. “Your nephew is too careless. Everyone in this industry knows each other. Did he really need to make it so messy? Now that Tianyu has been taken, I can only imagine the trouble he’ll face in the entertainment world when he returns. How am I supposed to deal with this?”
Ye Changmin hesitated, then said, “Zheng Tao, this situation is more complicated than you think. Tianyu won’t be back for a while.”
Zhong Zhengtao’s anger flared up. “What do you mean?! Is your nephew not going to let him go after all this?”
“Yes,” Ye Changmin replied helplessly. “You need to try to talk to him, but he’s not listening. He doesn’t respect my aunt at all.”
