I suggest that starting tomorrow, you should walk from Jinling to the Jokhang Temple in southwest China, taking three steps and bowing with each step. This pilgrimage will allow you to demonstrate your devotion and help lessen the sins of your family.”

Charlie thought for a moment and added, “It’s nearly 4,000 kilometers from Jinling to the southwest. If you bow every three steps, your pace will be much slower. If you walk for twelve hours a day, you might cover four kilometers. At this rate, it could take you about three years to reach the temple.”

“Ah?!” Su Zhifei was stunned and almost fell to his knees. He could hardly believe Charlie would impose such a punishment on him. “Bow all the way from Jinling to the Jokhang Temple?! Three years to get there?! Isn’t that impossible?!”

He was shocked and overwhelmed by the idea.

Charlie Wade was on his way from Yanjing to Jinling, and he was surprised by what he encountered. He thought to himself, “If I had to bow down all the way to the southwestern border, wouldn’t that be worse than Kong Delong? It would be hundreds or thousands of times worse!”
