Charlie smiled back and explained, “They’re mostly old customers. We’ve just become friends over time.”
He took a moment to reply to each message, including a polite “thank you” to Ye Changmin. After that, he turned to his parents, Xiao Changkun and Ma Lan. “It’s getting late. You should head back to your room and rest,” he suggested.
Ma Lan nodded, yawning. “I’m feeling sleepy. I can’t handle late nights like I used to.” She then asked Xiao Changkun, “Can you help me back to the room?”
Xiao Changkun quickly agreed and helped her up, ready to walk her back.
As they entered the elevator, Xiao Churan turned to Charlie and asked, “Husband, do you think my parents can get back to how they used to be?”
Charlie chuckled softly, “It’s hard to say with certainty.”
Curious, Xiao Churan lowered her voice and continued, “What’s going on between Dad and Aunt Han? After Dad cried so much in the car last time, I felt too embarrassed to ask him.”
Charlie smiled gently and replied, “I haven’t been following this closely, but I think we’ll find out soon.”
Xiao Churan looked nervous and asked, “What do you mean by ‘we’ll see the resolution soon’?”
Thinking of He Yuanjiang, Charlie said calmly, “I can’t share everything right now, but if I learn anything important, I’ll let you know right away.”
