Chapter: 3152
The best plan is to quietly approach the entrance of Hamid’s stronghold, then quickly rush in to catch them off guard and take out their defenses. This is the goal everyone wants to achieve in tough battles because it allows for the easiest victory with the least amount of casualties.
The second option is to use RPG rockets to accurately hit the fortifications once we get close. This method is similar to scenes in anti-Japanese films where bunkers and artillery are destroyed.
The third option is a full-on assault, but this plan is the least favorable. Very few succeed with this approach, as once we enter the enemy’s fire zone without taking out their defenses, they can easily overpower us. Winning in this scenario would mean advancing only by sacrificing many lives.
Lu Zhanjun does not want to resort to this third option unless absolutely necessary. However, as a commander, he knows he must consider all possibilities. He sets a rule for this plan: if casualties exceed 60%, he will withdraw his forces immediately. Deep down, he understands that such a situation is unlikely.
Once preparations were complete, Lu Zhanjun led his soldiers to check their equipment and ammunition. After confirming everything was in order, he communicated with the front-line commander through the walkie-talkie, saying, “We are now at the west side of the enemy. Launch a feint attack immediately!”
The commander replied, “Once I start the feint, your side must launch a surprise attack right away!”
Lu Zhanjun checked the time and said, “I will begin the surprise attack from…
“Ten minutes after you launched a feint!”
“Why do we have to wait ten minutes?” the opponent asked, looking confused. “The enemy has strong firepower and a solid defense. I don’t know how many of my men will be lost in those ten minutes. If I attack first, you can flank them right away. That’s the most logical plan!”
Lu Zhanjun replied seriously, “I need you to attack first. Once the enemy starts fighting with you, I can see where their firepower is coming from. Only then can my team launch a quick sneak attack to take it out. If we rush in together, we won’t be able to hit it at all!”
The other man hesitated but eventually agreed, “Okay! I’ll get the soldiers ready and we’ll attack in ten minutes!”
He understood he had no other options now. With Hamid’s strong defenses, a direct attack was impossible. Their only chance of success depended on Lu Zhanjun.
Lu Zhanjun had been a mercenary for several years, and while he was experienced, most of his battles had been against small armed groups in war-torn areas. He had never faced a truly powerful and strategic opponent. It was like a martial arts master who had only fought street thugs to build his skills.
If someone indulges too much in food, they will inevitably become more and more obsessed with it. Even worse, they may get lost in the pleasure of indulging, failing to realize how far they’ve fallen into that obsession.
At that moment, Lu Zhanjun was unaware that he had unwittingly moved into the enemy’s trap. He was focused on using a powerful telescope to watch the front lines.
He instructed the soldiers around him, saying, “Make sure you all keep an eye out. After their second round of fake attacks, we’ll need to figure out where Hamid’s firepower is located. We’ll mark all their positions. Once we start our attack, we need to take out those points quickly! If we can disable their defenses, victory will be ours!”
Several soldiers nodded in agreement and began preparing their observation gear and drawing tools. They were ready to quickly map out the enemy’s firepower positions once the feint attack began.
In Lu Zhanjun’s mind, Hamid’s front line was already his to conquer!
