Ah Liang smiled coldly and said, “I really want to take one of your kidneys, but so far, I haven’t found a patient who matches your type. Otherwise, you could earn two dollars for each operation. Even three cents would be something!”
Lang Hongjun felt even more anxious and quickly asked, “What are you talking about?”
The Indian doctor looked at Lang Hongjun and replied with a smile, “You don’t need to know too much about the operation planned for the day after tomorrow just yet.”
At that moment, Uncle Ma turned to Ah Liang and said, “By the way, I haven’t told you this yet. We’ve successfully matched a Canadian patient with kidney failure to Xiao Lang. The patient is willing to pay $200,000 for a kidney. I offered him $600,000 for both kidneys, which is a great deal for someone with kidney issues.”
Ah Liang’s eyes lit up with excitement as he asked, “Did he agree?”
Uncle Ma smiled and said, “I told him he needs to think it over, but I’m confident he’ll agree. If he does, we’ll have the surgery the day after tomorrow.”
Dr. Hadik interrupted, saying, “Mr. Ma, I already have three surgeries scheduled for that day, and I have to return to the U.S. Adding a kidney transplant will mean working late…”
Uncle Ma replied cheerfully, “That’s fine, Dr. Hadik. I’ll give you an extra $5,000 for the surgery. Afterward, I’ll have Ah Liang take you to the airport.”
Hearing this, Dr. Hadik rolled his large eyes and, after a moment, nodded. “Since you say so, I’ll make sure to do my best for this extra surgery.”
At this point, Lang Hongjun started to understand what was happening, but he still wasn’t completely sure about the whole situation.
Lang Hongjun was scared when he heard A Liang’s plan. The day after tomorrow, A Liang said he would perform a double kidney transplant if they found a good match. “Aren’t you worried about getting arrested for doing something so wrong?” Lang Hongjun asked, fear creeping into his voice.
A Liang smiled and replied, “What is conscience? If you die, you can save at least two others. People say that saving one life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. If we take one life, we can save two, which means we’re saving a life for free. The good we do is endless. I will go through with this!”
Lang Hongjun trembled and shouted, “What are you going to do to me?!”
A Liang turned to Uncle Ma, who was standing nearby. “Uncle Ma, can you explain this to him?”
Uncle Ma looked at Lang Hongjun with a cruel smile. “Let me tell you the truth. There’s a heart patient who has a match with you. He will be coming to Mexico the day after tomorrow for surgery to replace your heart. If a Canadian client agrees, they will also come to take your kidneys. Plus, we can find a corneal transplant patient from tonight until tomorrow since that doesn’t require a match.”
Lang Hongjun felt like he had been struck by lightning. He collapsed to the ground, overwhelmed and unsure of what to do.
A Liang looked at him and said with a raised eyebrow, “See? You’re very useful!”
In that moment, Lang Hongjun broke down. He knelt on the ground, crying and begging, “Please let me go! I have a family that needs me!”
“Please, if you kill me, my mother, wife, and children will be left with nothing,” he pleaded.
Ah Liang smiled and replied, “I’ve worked too hard to trick you to let you go now.”
He then turned to Charlie Wade and said, “You’re quite amusing! It’s like you’re asking for trouble. There’s a path to heaven, but you choose not to take it. Instead, you’re barging into hell without a clue! You really think you’re lucky? Hahaha!”
Charlie Wade wasn’t scared. He looked at Ah Liang and asked, “What do you plan to do with me?”
