- The Amazing Son-in-Law [The Charismatic Charlie Wade] (Chinese name) Chapter: 4768
Charlie Wade and Lang Hongjun were forced at gunpoint by their captors and taken inside a brick house.
Inside, the house was bare, with no furniture, just a staircase that led down to a brightly lit area. A group of armed gangsters pushed them to the ground, and Charlie quickly realized they were in a strange place.
This underground area was split into two sections by a corridor. On the left side, there was a prison cell with an iron gate, where seven or eight people were locked up. Charlie could only wonder what was happening behind the curtain nearby.
The strong smell of disinfectant filled the air, making it hard to breathe. He could also hear the hum of a ventilator and the beeping of an ECG monitor. It dawned on Charlie that this must be some sort of makeshift operating room.
He sensed that behind the white curtain, two very sick patients lay in deep comas.
Just then, a middle-aged man, around fifty years old and with yellowish skin, hurried down the corridor. He crossed over to where Charlie and Lang were sitting. The man first glanced at Lang, then turned to Charlie and asked a young man named Ah Liang, “Has this person’s identity been confirmed?”
“Yes, it has,” Ah Liang replied quickly, a smile on his face. “Uncle Ma, this kid is just an unlucky guy from China. He happened to sit with Lang Hongjun on the plane. They talked the whole way and he planned to follow Lang to Mexico to work as a seaman. That’s how he ended up here.”
Uncle Ma nodded slightly, looked Charlie up and down, and said with a smile, “You know, this kid looks strong and young. If we can find a good use for him…”
“Definitely sell it. That’s a good price.”
With that, Uncle Ma turned to Ah Liang and said, “Let Hardik come down to take a look.”
“Okay, Uncle Ma. Just a moment!” Ah Liang replied quickly and hurried outside.
Charlie Wade looked nervously at Uncle Ma and asked, “Who are you? Why did you tie us up?”
Uncle Ma grinned, revealing his big yellow teeth. He looked at Charlie like he was prey and said, “Listen, some things are better left unknown for now. Knowing too much too early will only cause you more trouble. Just eat and sleep here with me for a few days, and then you’ll find out what we have planned for you.”
Then he turned to Lang Hongjun, who was next to him, and said with a smile, “Your name is Lang Hongjun, right? From now on, I’ll call you Xiao Lang. It sounds friendlier.”
Lang Hongjun asked nervously, “Who are you?”
Uncle Ma replied, “My last name is Ma, and my full name is Ma Kui. This place is under my control, which means you are under my control too.”
Just then, Ah Liang returned with a dark-skinned Indian man. The man wore glasses and a white lab coat, looking like a doctor.
The Indian stepped forward and asked in English, “Which one of you is the donor for the surgery?”
Ah Liang quickly pointed to Lang Hongjun and said, “He is.”
The Indian examined Lang Hongjun closely, then nodded. “He seems to be in good shape. For the next two days, he needs to follow a low-sugar diet, eat less often, and no medications.”
Lang Hongjun turned pale with fear and blurted out,
“What are you going to do?! Are you going to take out one of my kidneys?!”
