“What the hell?!” Charlie retorted angrily. “You think you can shoot me in broad daylight?”
At that moment, Gunbir opened the passenger door of the Chevrolet, raised his mobile phone, and shouted, “Brother, I’ve called the police!”
“Great!” Charlie replied, nodding in satisfaction. He turned to face the mafia member, his voice cold as ice. “Aren’t you going to pull the trigger? Go ahead, shoot me right here!”
As he spoke, Charlie pointed to his forehead and challenged, “If you’re brave enough, do it!”
Julia, witnessing the tense standoff, shouted, “Robert! Put the gun down!” In her view, while the request for a hundred thousand dollars was indeed excessive, the responsibility for the incident lay with Charlie. If he had harmed someone, compensation was only fair. It was utterly unreasonable for her father’s men to threaten him with a gun.
