“What did you say?! Something has happened to my father?! Is that true?!”

Hector, lost in thought about his father’s death, was taken aback by the words he just heard. His excitement was palpable, and it seeped into his voice as he spoke.

On the other end of the line, Ricardo sounded puzzled. “Hector, are you awake? I mean, something’s happened to your father. Why do you sound so cheerful?”

Without hesitation, Hector ended the call and opened the video. When he heard his father recounting how he had nearly been killed that day, fear gripped him, almost making him lose control.
