“I’m all ears,” Charlie said, still smiling.
Helena then detailed her meeting with Howard, sharing the entire process with Charlie in relative depth.
When it came to discussing the price, she fabricated the details, stating, “Mr. Wade, the final agreement I reached with Howard was for him to pay $110 billion in cash, in addition to creating a complete AI model in Northern Europe and maintaining it for at least twenty years, with regular updates and upgrades.”
“$110 billion?” Charlie exclaimed, surprised. “You really got Howard to part with quite a bit!”
Helena chuckled, “Well, he initially offered just $100 million. If he had proposed $10 billion, I might have settled for $20 billion, which would have been fair. But since he started with such a low figure, I decided to go in hard.”
“The Rothschild family has wealth that rivals entire nations. A little financial sting won’t hurt them,” Charlie replied with a grin. “Howard will probably still think it’s a good deal.”
Helena added with a smile, “In a few years, he might be willing to pay $200 billion for a single pill.”
“That depends on how he performs,” Charlie said. “If he doesn’t meet expectations, I won’t be selling him any elixirs in the future.”
At that moment, Helena said, “By the way, Mr. Wade, when would it be convenient for you? I need your bank details to transfer part of the money to you.”
Charlie was about to agree but suddenly sensed something was off.
Considering Helena’s character, if the deal truly was worth $110 billion, she would likely find ways to decrease her share. If she intended to keep half, it would probably come with a lot of negotiation. However, now she was ready to settle for a straight 50-50 split without hesitation, which was uncharacteristic and raised a red flag for Charlie.
Charlie began to suspect that Helena had lied to him about the actual transaction amount, which likely wasn’t as high as $110 billion. He surmised that she was reporting an inflated figure to minimize her payout. Contemplating this, he said to Helena, “You can hold onto the money for me for now.
