The Amazing son in law Chapter 6587
Steve never imagined that the Hogwitz father and son would end up in the hands of Charlie Wade. With little time to ponder the situation, he quickly followed Charlie’s lead and descended further down.
Upon reaching the underground level, Steve was surprised to find that it resembled a miniature prison. A long corridor stretched before him, flanked by rooms that were secured with reinforced concrete walls and iron bars.
Each room had no wall facing the corridor, only iron railings that provided a clear view inside. Even the simple bathroom was only partially concealed by a one-meter-high wall, allowing for the unfortunate possibility of someone’s head being visible while using the toilet.
Despite being underground, the air quality, temperature, and humidity were surprisingly similar to those above ground. Charlie had expected an unpleasant odor upon arrival but was relieved to find no discomfort whatsoever.
Don Albert, standing nearby, quickly chimed in: “Master Wade, we installed a fresh air system when we constructed this facility. The air circulates twice an hour and includes central dehumidification. Even underground, it doesn’t feel damp at all. Additionally, I set up central air conditioning, so it’s warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It’s quite comfortable.”
He then glanced at Steve with a knowing smile and continued, “What’s that term the old Americans love? Humanity. What is it?”
Steve replied nonchalantly, “Humanitarianism.”
“Exactly!” Don Albert beamed. “We embody humanitarianism here.”
Then, lowering his voice, he turned to Charlie Wade and said, “Master Wade, normally, I don’t activate the fresh air or air conditioning here. I just don’t want those scoundrels to be too comfortable. I only turned it on because you mentioned your visit yesterday. I had Jiro prepare it in advance, and I’ll ask him to switch it off after you leave.”
Charlie nodded, smiling as he remarked, “You’re truly considerate, Don Albert.”
Don Albert grinned and patted his jacket, whispering, “Master Wade, I also brought equipment for human calligraphy. Just say the word, and even a member of the Rothschild family would have a few words inscribed on his forehead!”
With a chuckle, Charlie replied, “That won’t be necessary. There’s no need for any bloodshed today.”
He then turned to Kobayashi Jiro and instructed, “Jiro, please take us to meet the father and son.”
“Understood!” Kobayashi Jiro responded eagerly. He led the way and stopped in front of the third cell, turning to say, “Mr. Wade, they’re right here.”
As Charlie approached, Walter, lying on the hospital bed, turned pale with fear and began to tremble at the sight of him. His father was equally anxious.
Both were uncertain about Charlie’s intentions after such a long absence.
At that moment, Steve Rothschild arrived as well. He took in the disheveled appearance of the father and son inside the cell and was momentarily taken aback.
In truth, Steve wasn’t very familiar with them and had no strong recollection. The Rothschild family had so many relatives, and members of the main branch like Steve often looked down on them, resulting in minimal interaction.
While he had reviewed their information and photos prior to his arrival, seeing the father and son in their current state made it hard for him to immediately recognize them.
However, Walter’s father did recognize Steve without hesitation.
It’s common for a master not to remember a servant, but it’s rare for a servant to forget their master.
The moment he recognized Steve, he was initially stunned as if struck by lightning. Then, a glimmer of hope ignited within him, thinking that Steve had come to rescue him and his son. Their hearts swelled with optimism, yearning for assistance from the Rothschild family.
Now, they felt it was finally time to welcome Master Wang!
Without hesitation, he knelt down with a loud thud, looked up at Steve, and cried out, “Mr. Rothschild, you’ve finally come to save us! Please, we implore you on behalf of my son and me! Help us deal with this bastard named Wade!”
