Without your grandfather’s connections, this law firm would be a mere joke! The reputation of Smith in the American legal community was built through your grandfather’s hard work. Your parents used that name to secure funding.”
Paul was prepared to counter, but Charlie intervened, turning to Jimmy and stating, “Aren’t you here as part of the bride’s family for the wedding? Why bring up the firm’s ownership again? Are you here to cause trouble or to stake a claim on Smith Law Firm?”
Faced with Charlie’s challenge, Jimmy looked slightly embarrassed and replied, “These matters are separate. The issue of shares is a private family affair that we can discuss after the wedding.”
Charlie nodded, “So let’s focus on the wedding, then?”
“Exactly,” Jimmy affirmed, nodding. “My sister-in-law is a co-founder of Smith Law Firm and is worth over $100 million. It’s fine for her to marry, but if her partner lacks wealth and status, he’s just a gigolo, isn’t he?
