Helena suspected Steve was on his way to see Charlie Wade, so she kindly advised, “You can find the bathroom over at the banquet hall. Just head down the corridor on the east side of the first floor and walk all the way to the end.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty!” Steve replied with a respectful salute. He then leaned in to whisper to his father, “Dad, I’ll head over first. You can chat with Her Majesty for a bit.”
“Go ahead,” Howard replied, thinking that Steve was just a side character today. His presence didn’t matter much, so he didn’t give it much thought.
Upon reaching the banquet hall, Steve found Charlie Wade, Lin Wan’er, Asher, and Li Yalin gathered around a large dining table, enjoying their meal.
Excitedly, Steve approached Charlie Wade, wearing a bright smile. He quickly made his way to Charlie’s side and greeted him respectfully, “Hello, Mr. Wade! It’s great to see you again!”
Charlie Wade nodded and introduced his second uncle, Homula, who was sitting opposite him. “Steve, this is my second uncle, Homula. I believe you two have met before?”
Steve recognized Homula but they weren’t close. Nevertheless, he stepped forward and shook his hand warmly, exclaiming, “Hello, Mr. An! It feels like we’ve known each other forever!”
Homula smiled back, saying, “I didn’t expect to see Mr. Rothschild here. It’s quite an honor.”
“Oh, just call me Steve,” he replied quickly. “No need for formality. You’re Mr. Wade’s uncle, and I hope we can be good friends. Let’s keep it casual!”
Homula nodded, grinning. “Alright then, Steve. You can call me Homula, or my English name, Kevin.”
Steve beamed, saying, “I’m quite fluent in Chinese, so I’ll stick with Homula.”
At that moment, Charlie Wade introduced Li Yalin, stating, “Steve, this is Inspector Li Yalin. I don’t think I need to elaborate further, right?”
“Oh, absolutely not!” Steve replied with a smile. “Living in New York, how could I not know of Inspector Li? I’ve heard so much about you!”
With that, he reached out to shake Inspector Li’s hand.
Next, Charlie Wade pointed to Lin Wan’er beside him and introduced her, “This is my little sister, Lin Xiaowan.”
Noticing how youthful Lin Wan’er looked, Steve instinctively moved to kiss her hand. However, Charlie Wade interrupted with a chuckle, “If you’re not eighteen, I’d skip the kiss.”
Unfazed, Steve quickly withdrew his hand and said, “I didn’t realize Miss Lin was so young. If you ever visit the United States, please have Mr. Wade get in touch with me. I’ll ensure you receive an amazing welcome!”
Lin Wan’er nodded politely and smiled back, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Rothschild.”
Charlie Wade then looked at Steve with curiosity, asking, “So, Steve, why aren’t you with your father on the tour? What brings you here to see me?”
Steve couldn’t hide his enthusiasm as he replied, “Mr. Wade, I’m excited to share that my father and I have come to an agreement to establish a Rothschild family office in China. This office will manage our family’s investments there. I’ll be overseeing all operations personally, and we plan to invest an initial $50 billion in the first phase. I intend to set up this office in Aurous Hill!”
Charlie Wade wasn’t taken aback by the announcement. He knew Steve was astute; after his last visit to Aurous Hill, he must have realized that Charlie was his benefactor.
