The Amazing son in law Chapter 8016
After ordering all the dishes for the evening in the kitchen, Steve didn’t rush back to the private room.
He knew perfectly well that even someone as powerful as the second-in-command of a top-tier family couldn’t even be considered a follower in front of charlie. charlie couldn’t possibly have anything to discuss with his cheap grand-nephew Robert. Today’s events were definitely not what they seemed; charlie wanted to discuss something with Robert’s mixed-race girlfriend. So, he had to be sensible and not bring Robert along to disturb them.
Robert, unaware of the situation, saw that Steve was still unwilling to leave even after the food was ordered, and couldn’t help but ask, “Grandpa, shouldn’t we go back to the private room?”
“Not yet,” Steve waved his hand, instructing him, “You wait here, I’m going to make a phone call.”
Although Robert was surprised, he didn’t dare to question him and could only nod in agreement.
Steve walked out of the kitchen, took out his phone, and called charlie. He respectfully asked, “Mr. wade, may I bring Robert over?”
charlie grunted and said, “Come on, I have something to tell you. But tell Robert to find something to do and not come in yet.”
Steve replied without hesitation, “Okay, I’ll send this kid to buy me something.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up respectfully, Steve went back and called Robert out.
Robert thought he could go back to the private room, but unexpectedly, after Steve called him out, he instructed him, “Robert, go to Chinatown and buy some roast goose.”
Robert asked, completely bewildered, “What’s roast goose?”Steve explained, “It’s a type of Chinese cuisine. I was in China recently managing the family’s Greater China business, and I got used to eating Chinese food there. I feel uncomfortable if I don’t have it for a meal. Go and buy some more.”
Robert felt extremely aggrieved.
He was, after all, a member of the Rothschild family. Steve could have simply asked the restaurant manager to do this, so why did he have to be ordered around? Was he there to eat with him or to run errands?
However, Robert also knew very well that Steve wasn’t his grandfather. He could weakly protest against his own grandfather, but in front of Steve, he wouldn’t dare utter a single word of dissent.
So he could only nod sheepishly and say, “Okay, Grandpa, I’ll go right away.”
Steve patted him on the shoulder and said with a smile, “Go ahead, I’ll take you to China for some experience sometime. To be honest, you’re the only one in your family that I like.”
Robert stared at Steve in disbelief. Although Steve’s words were a bit harsh, he felt inexplicably happy and also had an inexplicable sense of mission, only thinking about quickly buying the roast goose for his great-grandfather.
So Robert immediately said respectfully, “Thank you for your approval, Grandpa. Don’t worry, I’ll go to Chinatown right away!”
Steve smiled kindly and said, “Go ahead, we’ll be waiting for you.”
“Okay!”
Robert left happily.
